Looking for things to do in Lancaster County, PA? I have a lot of ideas for staycations in this neck of the woods. Come check it out and make some plans!

I love our local area. There are so many fun things to do with the kids over the summer.  Sometimes big trips can just be too pricey but it’s no reason to not have fun this summer and get out and see something new. Here are some of my favorite staycation ideas for Lancaster County, PA.  Find more on the Lancaster County website, too!

15 Things to Do in Lancaster County, PA

American Music Theater: If you love live theater and singing this is the place for you. A beautiful venue and they have their own in-house shows plus lots of national talent that performs there, too. See my review of their Christmas show.

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm: Corn mazes, hay climbing, funnel cake. This is tons of fun for the kids. See my review here.

Choo Choo Barn: The more you look the more you see. We find something new every time we visit in this amazing display of model trains. See my review here.

Dutch Wonderland: We love this family-friendly amusement park that is truly created just for the  younger crowd. See my review here.

Ed’s Buggy Rides: If you’ve going to visit Lancaster County you need to go on an Amish buggy ride!

Hands-On House: A hands-on learning experience for younger kids. They get to build, dress up, and learn skills along the way. Perfect for a rainy day! See my review here.

High Sports: Let loose and have some fun! Racing, batting cages, mini golf and lots more. Great fun for kids!

Kitchen Kettle Village: Great food and shopping with a feel for the local Amish culture.

Lancaster Science Factory: Making science fun for kids, this is the perfect place to come over the summer to keep the wheels turning!

National Toy and Train Museum: So many trains from years past! If you’re a collector you’ll love this place. See my review here.

North Museum: A truly educational place to explore for kids and adults alike. They have a great planetarium. See my review here.

Sickman’s Mill Creek Tubing: So much fun and a great way to stay cool this summer!

Strasburg Railroad: They have a bunch of different train rides, some better for families with young kids including special Thomas the Train weekends. Check out my review here.

Turkey Hill Experience: As much ice cream as you can eat? Yes please! You can truly cool off and beat the heat here…and learn a thing or two, too! See my review here.

Wolf Sanctuary of PA: This is a really unique thing to see in Lancaster County. Beautiful wolves in a natural habitat.

Great list! Never had heard of the Hands On House, so was fun to check that out.

Also, last year the library had a free pass that you could get for the Lancaster Science Factory. Don’t know if they still do that or not but if you plan to go, it’s definitely worth checking into!

Yes, thank you for adding that! We used the library pass to go to the Landis Valley Museum and loved it. Hands on House is great for younger kids. Enjoy your summer Lydia!
