How to Throw A Simple Star Wars Party + Printable Star Wars Trivia! #DisneySide

This post may contain affiliate links. View my disclosure policy for details.

I was provided with a complimentary Disney Side @Home Celebration kit to throw our party and spread some pixie dust!  The thoughts, ideas, and opinions in this post are 100% mine.  You can read my full disclosure policy here.

DisneySide

We were invited to host a #DisneySide @Home Celebration and my kids are so Star Wars obsessed (did you see their Halloween costumes last year?)that that was the first thing they wanted to do – have a Star Wars party! We have some friends that are equally fanatical so we invited them over for some trivia and fun. We kept it simple and stress free (which is awesome for busy moms planning a party) and had such a great time together!

Do your kids love Star Wars? I've got the how-to on throwing a simple Star Wars party including some printable trivia, easy snacks, and more!

Here’s a little look at our party to give you some ideas to celebrate your love of the galaxy far, far away without breaking the bank.

Party Decor & Favors

Disney sent us a bunch of goodies and fun games. We used a lot of these as party favors and even if you’re not sent a box straight from Disney to share, this stuff was pretty simple and inexpensive: crayons, flash cards, stickers, etc. Grab it in your local dollar store or the $1 bins at Target. I found some great Star Wars toothbrushes for the kids that actually light up like lightsabers right up at my local grocery store.

For decor we used stuff we already had! Did you see our Disney Movies Party last year? I decorated with the kids’ DVDs. This year for our Star Wars party the kids put all their Star Wars figurines, plush, books, and Legos throughout the living room. That’s ZERO extra expense for me!

This was SO fun! We had the our friends work together to come up with 20 Star Wars trivia questions for us, and we came up with 20 for them. This is our list and they seriously impressed us with their knowledge. The Force is strong with these friends. The hilarious thing is when the 3 year-olds know more than the adults! Party Food

We made our famous Turkey Chili in the slow cooker for the  main course because everyone likes that and we could prep it early without having to cook while everyone was here. It’s a pretty cheap meal, too (cheaper than ordering pizza for sure).  I also made these ah-mazing Peanut Butter Espresso Brownies for dessert.  For appetizers we had tortilla chips with my favorite Vidalia Onion Dip (again, prepare ahead food that’s easy!) and my friend brought these fantastic TIE fighter cheese and cracker snacks. You can see how easy they are to make and the kids LOVED them!

Our friends also brought these awesome Star Wars sugar cookies! She had theses cookie cutters, and be sure to check out this selection of Star Wars cookie cutters, too.  Yum! And they’re easy! You really don’t want or need to frost the whole thing so you don’t hide the design.  (I have to note that my friend made homemade cookies. I *might* have used a store-bought roll of dough if I were looking for a shortcut. She’s an overachiever!)

Our kids had such a good time dressing up (did you notice in the first picture on this post the adults dressed up too?) and playing together, celebrating our love of Star Wars. And it was a pretty easy, inexpensive party to throw together. Hope you’ll find some inspiration here to become one with The Force and celebrate!

If you plan a Star Wars party I’d love to see what creative ideas you come up with!

How did the cheese adhere to the cracker? Cream cheese?

This is random, but what kind of crackers did you use for the tie fighters? I was at the grocery store today and didn’t see anything with that nice “tie fighter” shape to them.

See if you can find Crunchmaster Multigrain crackers. They are hexagon shaped. Or try Annie’s cheese crackers. I think there may be a Wheat Thin variety too? May The Force be with you! 😉
