Disney has provided me with an expense paid trip to Hollywood for the Disney Frozen Event in exchange for my review of the events of the trip. No other compensation is given. The opinions and experiences in my posts are 100% mine. You can read my full disclosure policy here.

Are you ready? I AM!!! Disney Frozen is finally here! You can catch the movie in theaters starting today, November 27. I was fortunate enough to attend the premiere in Hollywood as part of the #DisneyFrozenEvent but my kids haven’t seen the movie yet and I seriously can’t even put into words how excited I am to take them. We’ve been listening to the soundtrack (it’s amazing and I’m completely obsessed) and playing with all the Frozen goodies I came home from California with. They can’t wait to hit the theater and finally see what Mommy has been flipping out about for a week! So if you’re still wondering if I think you should go see it, the answer is a scream-at-the-top-of-my-lungs YES!!!

Here are all the Frozen characters (from L to R): Kristoff and Sven, Olaf and Anna, Elsa, and Hans. They are each perfect in the movie! Every single character is special and voiced and animated so well. The filmmakers are geniuses! (I know, I met them!) While the film is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen,” Disney has changed it so much that it’s really a totally new story.
What’s Frozen about?
Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
There is such an amazing story here. Having an older sister myself, I absolutely love the relationship between Anna and Elsa. In the end it’s the story of the love between family. I’d say it’s a bit different than your typical Disney fairy tale, and definitely in a good way. Elsa has the magical power to freeze things but she can’t control it and it drives a wedge between her and Anna. When her power freezes all of Arendelle, Anna sets off to find her sister and bring back summer. Without giving too much more away, that’s the gist of the plot. I don’t want to spoil it for you because seeing it for the first time is really special! You’ll get a great feel for it by watching the trailer.
Disney’s Frozen “First Time in Forever” Trailer
I love that trailer! You see more of the plot and the importance music plays in the movie. Oh, the music! This film is going to rank right up there with Disney classics like The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. I wasn’t kidding when I said I am addicted to the soundtrack. Every song is fantastic. My poor family has been subjected to my singing for the last week but I just can’t help it! I can’t wait to hear which songs you all love best. “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Let It Go” are my favorites…at the moment!
In addition to the beautiful story, lovable characters, and truly phenomenal music, the one thing you’re going to notice right away with Frozen is the gorgeous scenery. The filmmakers actually took a trip to Norway to study the mountains and fjords so the could recreate them in the film.

Elsa’s ice palace is stunning! I just love all of her scenes. Her dress, her hair, the snow and ice all around her..it’s magical!

Some of the movie’s stand-out characters are the supporting roles. Kristoff sings one song with his trusty reindeer, Sven, and it’s adorable. They’re such a cool pair. Oh, and wait until you meet the trolls!

Surely you’ve seen Olaf somewhere by now. That cuddly snowman is just the best. My son sings Olaf songs most of the day and it’s totally cute. Olaf is so sweet that oddly I don’t even think about him being cold. I just want to squeeze him!

Load up your kids, meet up with your friends, and hit the theater this weekend to go see Disney Frozen. I promise, you’re going to LOVE it! We’ll be going too, so come back after you’ve seen it and tell me what you think! I’m so excited for everyone to watch the entire movie so we can chat about it more! I will, however, spare you my singing of the soundtrack. You’re welcome.

I agree that this is a definite ‘YES’ to see! My family already saw it but, after singing the soundtrack several times a day, they keep asking about seeing it again!
