As a Sweetest Moms Ambassador I’ve partnered with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts to bring you all the best news from the Sweetest Place on Earth. They recently hosted an overnight stay for my family at Hershey Lodge. I’ve actually been there several times before for conferences and media events but had never stayed overnight, so this was a real treat for my crew!
After a long, hot day at Hersheypark there was one thing on everyone’s mind: where are we going to eat? There are 6 on-site restaurants and eateries at Hershey Lodge. Below is an overview of each one to help you plan your stay.
There is a bar in the lobby area that’s gorgeous and worth mentioning. I personally love the little sign behind the bar that says ‘Chocolate doesn’t ask silly questions. Chocolate understands.” Life motto, right there. Read on for food options!
Hershey Grille
This might be our favorite on-site restaurant. We had breakfast at Hershey Grill and everyone absolutely loved it. I have eaten lunch there before with colleagues and it was delicious, too.
The outside landscaping is fantastic. There’s a nice seating area (good if they are on a wait or just to hang out with your family), and lots of pretty flowers.
There’s a cool fish pond too which keeps the kids pretty entertained. It’s stunning, isn’t it? I probably took 50 pictures right here.
Of course the real draw of Hershey Grill is the food, and if you go for breakfast, I highly recommend the S’mores French Toast. My daughter and I both ordered this (me with a side of berries to make myself feel better about eating dessert for breakfast – let’s be honest here). It’s AMAZINGLY good.
Hershey Grill is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The Bears’ Den
The Bears’ Den is a really cool restaurant with a sports-theme. My kids probably spent 10 minutes just hanging out with these Bears at the entrance.
This is a great place to go with little kids. It’s family-friendly, a laid back atmosphere with lots for them to look at while they’re waiting for their food. The server brought my son crayons to keep him occupied which is always appreciated.
The hallway into the restaurant is lined with Hershey Bears memorabilia. There was a short wait when we dined, so looking at all of this made the time pass faster until our table was ready.
Obviously I snapped this pic when the restaurant wasn’t open but I wanted to show you how the floor is laid out like an ice rink. Cool, isn’t it?
The food was amazing! We all got burgers except for my son who ordered a grilled cheese off the kids menu. (Side note: It’s a sad day when your children outgrow the kids’ menu. This was my daughter’s dinner.) Delicious food, great service, cool atmosphere.
The Bears’ Den is open for lunch and dinner (pretty late at night, too!).
Cocoa Beanery
Coffee and pastries are my love language so the Cocoa Beanery is one of my favorite spots at Hershey Lodge.
There are actually 3 Cocoa Beanery locations in Hershey: Hershey Lodge, The Hotel Hershey, and Research Boulevard. I’ve been to two of them (haven’t hit The Hotel Hershey location yet) and I just love the cozy atmosphere and great menu.
Cocoa Beanery serves specialty coffee drinks, yummy pastries, and lunch items. Great for a quick and easy lunch with the family, or even a meeting spot if you’re at Hershey Lodge on business.
Of course these blueberry muffins jumped right out at me. That is, until I noticed what was beside them…
Come to mama. Okay, you get the idea. You eat a salad or wrap for lunch, then you have this for dessert. Balance. 😉
Cocoa Beanery is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s a perfect place to grab a little snack any time of the day.
The Forebay
I really wanted to eat dinner at The Forebay because the menu looks AMAZING. Unfortunately the night we were there the Lodge was pretty crowded with a Lacrosse tournament in town and there was a 2-hour wait. Not happening with two hungry kids in tow. But this is definitely something we want to come back to.
The Forebay is upstairs, almost right above the Cocoa Beanery and features a really gorgeous, cozy setting, with a broad menu: steaks, pasta, seafood, and more. It’s a little fancier than the other on-site restaurants but they do have a children’s menu so we felt comfortable taking the kids in here.
The Forebay is open for dinner only.
Fire & Grain
Fire & Grain is BRAND NEW as of May 2017. You can find it in the same space as the former Lebbie Lebkicher’s. This restaurant is open for breakfast, dinner, and cocktails, and deserves a whole post of it’s own. The food and atmosphere are both fresh and modern yet cozy and comfortable. It’s a great combo! Definitely check it out!
Fire & Grain is open for breakfast, dinner, and cocktails.
Cocoa Cabana
The Cocoa Cabana is located in the Water Works at Hershey Lodge. This is a really fun indoor pool complex that the whole family will love. My kids couldn’t wait to get in these pools during out stay!
The Cocoa Cabana is great for lunch or dinner. They have a perfect poolside menu of salads, sandwiches, some burgers for the kids and other goodies. There are tables set up all around the entrance area to Water Works so it’s super casual (go ahead and eat in your bathing suit!) and a fun place for the kids to dine.
I am personally a big fan of the specialty cocktail menu. This is the Cherry Twist. YUM.
Cocoa Cabana is open for lunch and dinner.
