When To Use Your Phone as A Mobile Hotspot

If you're able to use your phone as a mobile hotspot, you basically have the Internet in your pocket! Here are the 3 times when I use this feature the most.

A few months ago my husband and I made the switch to Verizon and we are SO glad that we did. We never have to worry that we’re going to be without coverage anymore. Even in the most remote places we’ve traveled to lately, we’ve always had a signal.

When To Use Your Phone as A Mobile Hotspot

With the Verizon Unlimited plan, our phones also serve as mobile hotspots. With this feature, you’ve basically got the Internet in your pocket. I travel a good bit for work and family fun, so it’s been a lifesaver for me many times. Before turning on your mobile hotspot in your phone’s settings, be sure you know what your plan offers because using it will pull from your mobile data allowance (which is why the Unlimited plan rocks!). Here’s when I find it most handy to have.

When You’re Traveling

Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, you’re away from your home WiFi and finding an Internet connection can be tricky. To be honest, I don’t trust the security of hotel or airport WiFi anyway, so I love having my own secure connection right in my pocket. I do try to unplug when we’re traveling but sometimes ya gotta get ‘er done. Which leads me to my next point…

When You Need a Mobile Office

I often have to take my work with me when we’re on the road and turning on the mobile hotspot on my phone lets me connect my laptop to the Internet and it’s business as usual. This is perfect when the kids are playing at a park and you need to cross a few things off your to-do list. No need to make them wait at home, just take it all with you and everyone wins!

When The Kids Need Their WiFi

Nothing is going to make you unhappier on a road trip than a kid with no WiFi. With a mobile hotspot you can connect several devices and there’s enough Internet to go around. My kids have iPods and tablets (so no cellular plans) and need WiFi to be able to chat with their friends or play their favorite games. And let’s be honest here: sometimes *I* am the one that needs them to have WiFi access.

When would you find it handy to be able to use your phone as a mobile hotspot? Stop in your local Verizon store to find out how to make it happen and take your secure connection with you wherever you go!

I love having my mobile hot spot on hand when the internet service in my home goes out. It used to be the end of the world when that happened, but now I have my backup!

That’s another example of when it comes in handy! I love being able to use my phone this way, too. Thank you for your comment Sarah!

I use my mobile hotspot most often. May it be my office, on the transport or even my own home. When I’m in need, the hotspot is on. 😉
