3 Reasons I’m Glad I Switched To Verizon Unlimited #VZUnlimited

I’ve had the same cell phone carrier for years and have never been thrilled with them. Poor service, poor coverage, suddenly they jacked our bill up at one point… Not good. But my husband and I didn’t have contracts that ended at the same time and we were on a shared plan, so it was always tricky to figure out when to switch. Finally, we decided to JUST DO IT already, and a couple of weeks ago we walked into a Verizon store and kissed our old carrier goodbye.

Thinking of changing cell phone carriers? I just switched to Verizon Unlimited and I'm so glad I did! Here's my experience + why I'm happier with Verizon!

The switch itself was so easy. The staff at the Verizon store really know their stuff and were able to easily explain the plans, the phones, and (most importantly!) they were able to transfer everything from our old phones to our new devices. I didn’t lose any photos, video, messages – nothing! Whew! (This did take some time so plan on making an afternoon of it.)

3 Reasons I’m Glad I Switched To Verizon Unlimited

Since switching to Verizon Unlimited we’ve enjoyed so many benefits of having a better carrier, and after being tied down with data limits for years, it’s amazing to have an unlimited plan and just not worry running out. Here are 3 of the main reasons I’m so glad took the plunge and became Verizon customers!

No Limits, No Worries

With our previous carrier, my husband and I shared a 4GB data plan. As a blogger, I’m plugged in a LOT of the time and too many times we went over our data limits.

These are actual messages I got telling me I was out of data and my speeds had been slowed down until a new month started. Blah. If I wanted to keep my speed, I had to pay more. This was a total pain for us more often than I care to think about.

With Verizon Unlimited, there are literally NO limits! We never run out of data so if I need the GPS all the way to the beach, or if I want to scroll Instagram through my kids’ soccer practices, I can do it without worrying that I’m wasting all my data. Freedom! It’s so nice to not have to even give it a second thought.

My Home WiFi Is Faster

In an effort to save our data, we used to put our phones on the WiFi when we were at home. The more devices we had on the WiFi, the slower it operated. So if I was uploading a video to YouTube or if the kids were streaming a movie from Amazon Prime, a call of, “Get your phone off the WiFi!” was pretty common.

With Verizon Unlimited, we never have our phones on the home WiFi – or any WiFi for that matter. With unlimited data that’s fast and reliable, there’s no need to use any of the bandwidth we have for our other devices in the house. So we’re seeing the benefits of a great cell phone plan on our TV, tablets, and computers, too!

Better Matters

My service with my previous carrier was really spotty. We hit the beach often in the summer and despite being really close to Atlantic City, no small town, there was practically NO cell phone reception. I’ve been in LA with no cell phone reception. It’s frustrating when you still have to pay that bill every month and didn’t get the service you expect.

Since switching to Verizon, I have not once hit a ‘dead spot’ where I didn’t have service. The only place where it was a little spotty was in my local Target store. There is no signal in that store for some reason, but with the Verizon Unlimited plan, I can turn my phone into a hotspot. So I did that and guess who was able to pull up some competitors’ prices on the item I was shopping for and price match at the register? This girl!  Better service really does matter. In this case it saved me $20!

If you’re thinking of switching to Verizon Unlimited, I definitely recommend hitting your local Verizon store and chatting with a rep about your options. We are SO glad we made the change!
