I’m catching up on the Humane League of Lancaster County Pets of the Week to share! Something for everyone today: cats, and dogs, and turtles, oh my!
We are such suckers for tuxedo cats and this guy is so handsome!
Romeow is a handsome, black and white Tuxedo cat who is only 2 years old! Romeow was found as a stray and brought into the shelter. We discovered that he is FIV+, but FIV is not something to be afraid of! The only special considerations he has are that he should go to a home with no other cats, or with cats who are also already FIV+. He cannot transfer FIV to humans or dogs. Like all cats, Romeow should have annual vet visits for wellness checks. With routine care, Romeow should be able to live a long, healthy life! Romeow is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He is also litter trained. If you’re looking for a laidback feline companion, then come check out Romeow! You’re sure to fall in love with this dapper fellow.
If you’re interested in learning more about Romeow you can visit the Humane League of Lancaster County during their adoption hours (be sure to check the website for hours), or email catadoptions@humaneleague.com.
Next up is this handsome fella. I could just squeeze him!!
Greetings, beagle-loving friends. I’m Ding Ding, a 2 year old neutered male beagle who has spent my life so far as a hunting dog who lived in outdoor kennel with other dogs. I need a special home with a family who has the love and patience to show me what it means to live in a house and be part of a family. I’ve had no exposure to kids, cats, or strangers, so you’ll find I’m a bit hesitant on new things. However, I really am the sweetest of sweet and would love the chance to show it! I certainly don’t believe in the old adage that, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” I am ready and willing to learn and I will respond well to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. And, hey – who are you calling “old,” anyway?! Let’s start on a new adventure together!

My daughter’s teacher has a turtle in their classroom and the kids love it! He’s a pretty low maintenance pet so it might be up your alley if you’re considering adding a new friend to the family.
Meet Iceberg, a female red-eared slider turtle. Iceberg loves to swim around in her tank and she gets really excited when she gets fresh veggies to munch on. Iceberg also enjoys perching on her rocks and basking in the warmth of her reptile light. She came to us when she was abandoned by her previous home so we are unsure of who she has previously lived with. Like all red eared sliders, she is very talented and is able to hold her breath under water for up to five hours! Iceberg would do best in a home that understands that she can grow up to a foot long and will need a bigger tank to fit her new size. This lovely lady is ready to swim home with you today!

Previously featured dog Sunny has found his forever home! 😀 Congratulations to the new family! Ernie is still available for adoption.
