Eli’s Cheesecake’s Tira Mi Su Is Italian Dessert Divinity +Giveaway

This post may contain affiliate links. View my disclosure policy for details.

I was provided with a complimentary  Eli’s Cheesecake to facilitate this review.  The opinions in this post are 100% mine.  You can read my full disclosure policy here.

Valentine’s Day is coming! If you’ve got a sweet tooth like me this is OUR holiday, baby. Eli’s Cheesecake of Chicago has the perfect desserts for your celebrations. I personally love a delicious Tira Mi Su and was thrilled when they offered to send me one to sample. Probably not as thrilled as my kids who kept asking when it was coming, but pretty darn excited. I know from a previous review that their products are outstanding but I also sort of thought they were the cheesecake people, so I was interested in seeing how Tira Mi Su tasted. It’s a winner. Total Italian dessert divinity!

If you have a sweet tooth this is the place for you to get your fix. This Eli's Cheesecake Tira Mi Su is Italian dessert divinity. Sweet, creamy, delicious!

Because you might be wary of ordering something like cake online I want to assure you that it comes packaged really, really well and your dessert is totally safe and secure.  This is the sturdy box that the cake itself comes in. And that box is packaged inside of a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice, which is then inside of another cardboard box, the one it’s shipped in. So totally secure and kept cold and fresh.

Our delivery arrived late one evening but we had to break into it immediately! The kitchen lighting isn’t the best here but I wanted to show you the entire cake before we dug in! It’s beautiful! And it’s already sliced evenly for you so you don’t have to worry about that.

In between each pre-sliced piece is a piece of parchment paper so the slices don’t stick together and you can remove each one perfectly. I love that they do that. Who wants to get a cake this amazing and then make a mess of it while you’re serving? Not I.  Now this is the biggest tip I have for you: Patience, my child. Our cake was pretty much frozen solid when it arrived and the kids insisted on digging in immediately. Not me. I’m like the Little Red Hen over here, slowing working for my reward. Okay I wasn’t working, I was just waiting. Same difference. They loved it, super cold and all. But this cake is 1000x better when it’s defrosted. Still cold, but defrosted. So be patient and wait until your cake is ready for you. You’ll thank me later. 😉

Here is the Tira Mi Su in all its glory. Yes, it tastes just as good as it looks. Even better. It’s sweet and creamy and close-your-eyes-while-you-eat-it delicious.

Eli’s take on the classic Italian dessert made with espresso-infused sponge cake layered with clouds of mascarpone mousse, finished with a dusting of cocoa.

Mmm…so good. It’s perfect with a cup of coffee or tea.

You know you want a taste. Heck, I want another taste myself. This Tira Mi Su was absolutely fantastic! Head on over to the Eli’s Cheesecake website to see all the amazing dessert options they have available. When you’re looking for something really special to serve, this is where it’s at. Be sure to follow Eli’s Cheesecake on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest to be the first to hear about their latest products and promotions.

Eli’s Cheesecake is generously offering one of my readers the same Tira Mi Su cakes that I got to review!  YUM!  And my friend Meredith over at Sanity in Suburbia is reviewing and giving away the Eli’s Cheesecake Vanilla Cheesecake. So we’ve teamed up to make this a two-winner giveaway. One winner will get the Tira Mi Su, and one will get the Vanilla Cheesecake. Enter once and have a shot at one of two prizes! This giveaway is open to US residents ages 18+ only and will end on February 3, 2015 at 11:59pm ET.

Good luck!

    Burnt Caramel Flan Cheesecake.
Oh. My. Goodness. That is so many of my favorite things all rolled into one (but in a good way, not like deep-fried chocolate-covered bacon Twinkies or whatever the new fad is)
