Holiday Card Display Craft + ZINK hAppy Prize Pack Giveaway

This post may contain affiliate links. View my disclosure policy for details.

This post is sponsored by ZINK Imaging.  The opinions in this post are 100% mine (and I love this gadget!).  You can read my full disclosure policy here.

This Holiday Card Display Craft is really easy to make and so fun to personalize with the ZINK hAppy printer. Here are the simple instructions.

You guys, I am SO in love with my ZINK hAppy. I was just talking to my Mom about it today on the phone and we’re going to get crafty together when she comes to visit for the holidays! You might remember the Instagram photo tile craft I made, and this fun Thanksgiving photo craft.  I knew I wanted to do something special for the holidays with my ZINK but I needed some inspiration.

So I hit Hobby Lobby for the first time with my friend recently and WOW! I have to admit, I’m not super creative in coming up with new ideas, but when I see things in a store that I can start with, and then personalize with my ZINK, that’s where the magic happens.

I saw this cool chalkboard piece with little clips screwed into it for only $5 and knew that was it. I could use that to create a personalized holiday card display craft! (And that’s my main message here: Find something to start with, and then jazz it up and personalize it with your ZINK to make it really special!)

The ZINK hAppy app is free, and so easy to use. It pairs with the ZINK printer via Bluetooth so you can literally sit on your couch and print your favorite photos.

I gathered up some of my favorite Christmas photos from years past to print out and decorate my project. If you’re just joining me on this ZINK obsession journey, let me remind you that the ZINK hAppy uses NO INK. I have no idea how this works. Magic, I guess. But all you need are the zRolls – the paper it prints on – and you’re good to go.

I lined up all my photos in the app and then hit print. They spit right out of the machine!

You can see that what’s on my phone screen is exactly what came out of the printer. There are several different width’s of zRoll to print on, so choose whatever is best for your project.

Next I wanted to add a few holiday-themed words, so I changed the zRoll to a thinner size, 1/2 inch, and created a strip with some words and art. Look along the bottom of my phone. If you click on ‘art’, a bunch of image categories will pop up. There’s one for Christmas designs so I easily found these Christmas balls to pretty up my word art!

Hit print, and my next design came right out! I used the ZINK Toolkit scissors to cut the words apart. Then I arranged everything, my photos and the words, on the board how I wanted them.

The zRoll paper has an adhesive back so you can peel that off just like a sticker and place your images on your project. No glue needed! If you mess up (like I did) you do have time to peel them off and rearrange them before they really ‘set’ firmly.

Once I was done, I hung some of our favorite Christmas cards on the board. Now, if you don’t find a board like this in your craft store, you could make this pretty easily. Its one rectangular board with three metal clips screwed into it. It’s supposed to be a chalkboard surface (not sure I buy that!) and if you like that you could use chalkboard paint. I think a more natural wooden surface would be really pretty too.

I love how it looks! I’ve always struggled with a nice way to display my cards so I’m excited about this.

With a couple of little hooks in the back, it was a snap to hang up on the wall. And I love that we can easily change out the cards we have on display, or choose some of our favorites to hang.

Now I’ll tell you a secret: I actually bought TWO of these boards (hey, $5!) and when Christmas is over, I’m going to take this one down and pack it away. The other one I’m going to decorate using my ZINK hAppy with pictures of the kids crafting, and hang some of their best projects from here. Cool idea, right?!

Such a quick, easy and really fun craft! I actually bought something else at the craft store that I’m going to personalize and use as a Christmas gift for my family. Stay tuned for that. I’m so excited! You can grab a ZINK hAppy for yourself or anyone on your list (because I honestly think EVERYONE would love one of these!) on Amazon.

I made this fun and easy craft, an Instagram Photo Tile with the ZINK hAppy printer. So easy and fun to get creative with. This gadget has a million labeling, crafting, and organizational uses.

ZINK Imaging is generously offering one of my readers the same HUGE ZINK hAppy prize pack that I received. That includes the printer, 5 zRolls, a tool kit to help with your crafty projects, 3 protective covers, and an idea book, valued at nearly $350. AWESOME prize! This giveaway is open to US readers only, ages 18+, and will end at 11:59pm ET on December 23, 2015.

Good luck!
