My life completely changed when I became a mom. I think that’s usually the story for all of us, right? It’s a whole new world. For me, though it was an amazing and fulfilling experience, it was also a little isolating. I had worked full time with other adults, and suddenly I was home along with a baby (a colicky baby, no less), and what I really wanted was another adult to talk to during the day.

As my kids have grown, my mom friends have become my rocks. I don’t know how I would survive motherhood without them. Advice, commiseration, hilarious stories – they are there for all of that and more and I am so thankful.  When I was just starting out with this whole mom thing, I really didn’t know where to find other women in my current stage of life to connect with. Since that is SO important on this motherhood journey, I’ve got a few quick and easy tips for you below.

5 Ways to Make Mom Friends

Go for a Walk

I walked a LOT when my kids were babies, and walking around the neighborhood is where I made my very first mom friend. We are still friends, and so are the kids, 13 years later. Can’t walk in your neighborhood? Hit the local park. I promise, there are moms there waiting to meet new friends!

Take a Class

There are so many fun mommy-and-me classes: swimming, tumbling, and music are just a few. Or maybe you can take a class just for YOU at a gym that has child care! The moms gather at these classes and it’s a great way for you to meet women with babies the same age as yours.

Get Online

Find the local Facebook group for your community and start interacting. Most towns have a moms’ group online where you can meet other women and find out about local events where moms are meeting up.

It’s Story Time

Hit your library for story time. This is an easy, free way to get out of the house with the kiddos, so moms flock to it. You’ll definitely find some new friends here.

Visit the Museum

Look for a children’s museum in your area and plan a day with the kids. While they play pretend grocery store, you can talk to the other moms and exchange numbers.

One of the things that always came up between me and my mama friends when the kids were babies was feeding. How often do they eat? How much? What do you feed them? If you have a formula-aged baby at home, I encourage you to check out Parent’s Choice™ HMO Infant Formula at Walmart.

Parent’s Choice™ HMO Infant Formula

One of the first things that’s going to hit you in the face when you become a parent is that this is no cheap gig. Kids are expensive. So one of the biggest topics of discussion with my fellow mama friends is how we can save money on all the stuff they need. Parent’s Choice™ HMO Infant Formula, available at Walmart, is a big-time savings over national brands.

We all want what’s best for our babies, no matter the cost, so if you are wary of switching to another formula brand, I totally get that, but I assure you that in this case, it’s the smart thing to do. Parent’s Choice was named Baby Bargains’ Best Infant Formula of 2018!

Parent’s Choice™ HMO Infant Formulas Benefits

This ‘HMO’ acronym is new to me, and if it’s new to you, too, check it out because this is pretty awesome. HMO stands for human milk oligosaccharide (HMO), a prebiotic that helps establish beneficial bacteria for immune support.

A little bit of science here, but the oligosaccharide, 2’-fucosyllactose (2′ -FL) is found naturally and is abundant in most mothers’ breast milk. That means this formula is designed to help a baby’s immune system be more like the immune system of a breastfed baby. Amazing!

Parent’s Choice™ Sensitivity® Infant Formula and Parent’s Choice™ Advantage® Infant Formula feature 2’-FL HMO and are now available exclusively in Walmart stores. The infant formulas feature a blend of nutrients that supports baby’s growth and development. And they are comparable to other national brands (but are easier on the wallet!):

    • Parent’s Choice™ Advantage®: Compare to the Nutrition of Similac PRO-ADVANCE®
    • Parent’s Choice™ Sensitivity®: Compare to the Nutrition of Similac PRO-SENSITIVE®

This formula provides complete nutrition for the first year of life, DHA, Lutein & Vitamin E to support growth, and it contains non-GMO ingredients. Plus…we mentioned the whole saving money thing, right?! Parent’s Choice™ is clearly a good choice for mamas!

SAVE WITH IBOTTA

As if the Walmart Everyday Low Price isn’t enough savings, Ibotta, a free app you can use to save in stores, is offering additional savings on Parent’s Choice™ formula. There is currently a $3 rebate on each one of these products with the app! You can check that out here.
