I’ve been patiently waiting for a Lightning Deal on the Kindle but haven’t found one. Time is running out to order in time for Christmas delivery if you had a Kindle on your gift list. There are a few different versions to choose from, one priced as low as $79. If you’re comparison shopping, here’s the lowdown:
All-new Kindle for $79: This is a smaller, lighter version with built-in WiFi. It fits in your pocket and would be good for the reader on the go.
Touch Screen Kindle for $99: This is also a smaller, lighter version. As the name implies, it’s a touch-screen device. It has built-in WiFi, text-to-speech, audiobooks, and MP3 playing capabilities. It can hold 3000 books!
Touch Screen 3G Kindle for $149: This is basically the same as the Touch, but it includes FREE 3G wireless. That means you can download books anywhere your cell phone works, no hunting for a WiFi hotspot to connect.
Kindle Fire for $199: This guy is fully loaded. Watch movies, download apps, surf the Web. And it’s in color! This looks like a cross between an e-reader and a tablet to me. Check out all you can do with it by clicking the link. Looks awesome!
Another really cool perk that comes with the Kindle is the Kindle Lending Library. You need two things to use it: a Kindle and an Amazon Prime membership. You can sign up to get a free one-month trial membership, or read here about how to hang onto a free Prime membership even longer.
Once you have those two things, you’ll have access to the Kindle Lending Library where you can borrow up to one book per month, no due dates, totally free! There are thousands of books to choose from including many current and former bestsellers. You know, stuff you actually want to read!
There are always free books available for Kindles, too. You can see some of the freebies I’ve shared here.
