That’s It. Fruit: Tasty and Wholesome After-School, On-The-Go, Stocking Stuffer Snacks

Do you have to pack snacks to send to school with your kids?  My daughter has to take in a morning snack with her plus I pack her lunch every day, and of course she needs an after school snack, too.  Then there’s my son who also packs lunch at preschool three days each week, my husband who immediately heads for the pantry when he comes home from work, and me, whose stomach starts growling right around 10:30am.  What can I say?  We snack a lot.  I’m always on the lookout for new, healthy snack ideas since we all get sick of the same old, same old after a while, so I was really excited to discover That’s It. fruit bars and have the opportunity to try them out and share them with you!

My whole family really loves these bars.  Let me tell you why they’re so awesome:

That’s It. bars have two ingredients.  TWO.  Can you believe that?  And would you believe those two ingredients are two types of fruit?  No weird preservatives, chemicals, stuff you can’t pronounce.  It’s all fruit.  Now you see where they get their name, right?

They are healthy and wholesome.  These bars are only 100 calories each, contain 3 grams of fiber, and lots of vitamins.  They are kosher, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free , and diabetic-friendly.  There are no added preservatives, sugars, and zero fat. That sounds like it would work as a great snack choice for anyone and everyone. Plus you get a full two servings of fruit in every bar.  I’ll readily admit I struggle with getting in all the fruits and veggies you’re supposed to.  What is it up to now, a recommended 10 servings daily?  I’m not sure but I know it’s a lot. Definitely more doable when you can get 2 in one quick snack!

That’s It. fruit bars taste awesome!  Let’s be honest.  If they didn’t taste good it wouldn’t matter much to me that they were so healthy and good for you.  If I can stomach it, I’m really not interested.  The same goes doubly true for my kids.  The bars are a little chewy and dense which is great since it makes you feel like you’re really had a substantial snack and you don’t need to eat 6 of them to feel satisfied.  Unless you’re my three-year-old son in which case you *might* eat 3 bars in one sitting.  Growing boy, right?!   🙂

The flavors we tried are Apples & Cherries, Apples & Mango, and Apples & Pear.  We liked the Apples & Cherries the best but they were all delicious!  There’s no weird after taste, just a yummy, natural fruit flavor.

These bars are perfect for on-the-go.  They’re individually packaged so they’re easy to throw in your purse or diaper bag or toss in the kids’ backpacks.  Sometimes finding a truly healthy snack that’s not actual fruit or veggies which can get  messy to transport, is a challenge.  Have you looked at some of the ingredients labels on what’s in your pantry?  Some of it is just…yikes.

That’s It. bars would make perfect holiday gifts.  They taste good and they’re good for you.  What’s not to love?  I could stuff some of these in my kids’ stockings, give some to  my mom to munch on while she’s at work, some to my sister to munch on between teaching spinning classes and boot camp, some to my husband to munch on while he’s conquering the Internet at work, some to teachers who have to be dying for a pick-me-up after a few hours with all those kids.  The list goes on.

Still not sure what to think?  Read the reviews on Amazon.  All but one is a 5 star review and that one is a 4 star.  People love them.  I’m one of those people!  Be sure to follow That’s It. on Facebook ,Twitter, and Pinterest to be the first to hear about their latest products and promotions!

That’s It. is generously offering my readers a chance to win a 12-bar variety pack!  YUM!  This giveaway is open to US residents ages 18 and older and ends on September 26, 2012.  You can enter to win [HERE].  Good luck!

I was provided with complimentary That’s It. products to facilitate this review.  The opinions in this post are 100% mine.  You can read my full disclosure policy here.
