I admit I’m not much of a football fan. I like Penn State because I went to school there but my husband is a Fantasty Football guy and I could pretty much take or leave that. But, if you want to have a tailgate party, I’m game! I like all the prep and of course eating all the goodies! It’s been darn cold here in Pennsylvania so when I teamed up with Vlasic to put together a tailgate, we decided to make it a tablegate instead. Or a couchgate. Whatever, you get the idea! We stayed warm and had some fantastic snacks, courtesy of Vlasic!
My whole family actually loves pickles. The kids will often ask for a little dish of them as an after school snack. Vlasic Farmer’s Garden Pickles are some of our favorites! I personally love the mason jar they come in. They are special before you even open them up!
Here are the Farmer’s Garden flavors:
- Zesty Garlic Chips
- Bread & Butter Chips
- Kosher Dill Spears
- Kosher Dill Halves
- Dill Chips
All of them are marinated in a special brine of herbs and spices and then they add some veggies like carrot and pepper slices, or cloves of garlic. It makes them more flavorful and just more fun to eat! I like the Bread & Butter Chips best but the rest of my family really liked the Dill Chips. We geared up for our tailgate party (in the living room, but it was snowing outside!) and made these super easy pickle kabobs! The kids helped me put them together which only took a few minutes. And they were a hit!
You can find a bunch of great recipes for these pickles on their website. I really like the recipes on the Vlasic site for something simple like these kabobs. And that’s the fun part for me: quick and easy yet fun to eat and everyone loves it! That’s where I got the idea for these kabobs.
The Vlasic Farmer’s Garden Pickles come in 26oz. jars so you get a good amount of pickles, and you can find them in your local grocery store with the rest of the pickles. When you’re planning your next tailgate party or just need a fun snack for a get together or something new for the kids to munch on after school, give them a whirl! Our family loves the Vlasic brand and these specialty pickles are a huge hit!

Happy tailgating!
