Easter Sunday is sneaking up on us. If you like to hide Easter baskets for your kids be sure to check out some of my suggestions for creative reusable baskets, no Easter grass required! Now we have to find fun Easter gift ideas to fill them. Of course candy is always a hit in my house but it’s also a great time for some new fun treats that don’t have to break the bank. Here are a few creative ideas I found. I’d love to hear what you put in your kids’ baskets too!
Arts & Crafts
Amazon has a great selection of arts and crafts toys under $10. My kids love to color our driveway in sidewalk chalk. This would be a fun gift for springtime! Model Magic is always a big hit too and I like it because it’s not crumbly and messy like other kids’ doughs. If you buy the white Model Magic just color a little bit of the dough with a marker then work it in to change your dough into any color you want. That’s usually cheaper than buying all the different colors.
Gardening Tools
This kids’ gardening set is the perfect size for little hands. My kids are always digging around outside and last year we finally gave them their own little garden to play in. They grew some herbs and a few flowers. You could look for gardening gloves, seeds, or a watering can for the complete little gardener gift!
Butterfly Garden
This is one of my all time favorite things for kids. My sister bought this Butterfly Garden for my daughter probably four years ago and we use it every single year to grow our own butterflies. It comes with a coupon for butterfly larvae, so the first year we grew those Painted Ladies and released them in a park. After that we’ve just found swallowtail caterpillars on our parsley in the garden and we stick them in the house to grow. The kids love watching them make their cocoons and emerge as beautiful butterflies. Then we release them and watch them fly away! It’s so fun every summer. You can also grow you own ladybugs, ants, praying mantis, and worms!
Fun Foodie Gifts
When the weather is warm my kids love to eat their meals and snacks outside. It’s fun to serve it up with cool plates and utensils. These funky chopsticks would be great to eat a plate of fruit with. My 6 year-old daughter is pretty skilled with the chopsticks and she’d love these. If you want to see something REALLY cool, check out these cocktail picks. Wouldn’t the kids just love these? I think I’m going to get them for our Easter baskets. How about these cool reusable straws, a snow cone kit, or this ice pop maker kit? All great ideas for summer fun!
Outdoor Fun
There are lots of ideas for great outdoor toys. We like to fly kites on a windy day and they’re especially fun to take to the beach. This water balloon kit looks like fun and would be great for summer party. Water balloons are not just for kids, ya know?! 😉 More outdoor fun ideas: a giant bubble wand, stomp rocket (we love this thing!), Beamo giant frisbee (I have one and it’s so fun for adults, too, also a great beach toy), and these fun water squirters.
Have fun finding some neat things to fill your Easter baskets. Share your suggestions with me, too! I’ve got two baskets to fill myself!
