It’s not too late to get Mom the PERFECT Mother’s Day gift! I have an exclusive discount that’s good through May 14. Yup, you can order until the last second!
Mother’s Day is coming right up! It’s May 14 this year (you’re welcome), and if you’re at all like me, you struggle every year trying to find a special gift for your Mom that’s meaningful, but not outrageously priced, and doesn’t end up being some extra thing that sits on a dresser somewhere.
The Mother’s Day Struggle Is Real
I struggle with it every holiday, to be honest, and my Mom has been living across the country so Christmas gifts are even more tricky. You can’t hop on a plane with a new Dutch Oven, people! My lack of ideas usually drives me right up to last minute and dumps me at the gate of the holiday, empty handed. Thankfully right before Christmas last year I saw some of my blogger friends posting about StoryWorth, saying it was such a cool gift idea. So I looked into it, fell in LOVE immediately, and bought it for my Mom!
This is the perfect gift for Mother’s Day: It’s meaningful (like seriously, keep-it-forever meaningful), affordable, will bring you closer to Mom, and it’s ideal for all the last-minute-Lindsays out there. I know I’m not alone, ya slackers.
What Is StoryWorth?
You probably never knew about your Mom’s first job (or that her boss was a creep), her first best friend, her most cherished memory of her Dad. With StoryWorth, you’ll get to hear aaaallll the good stories from yesteryear.
Send your Mom a different question each week via email, and her answers will be bound in a beautiful keepsake book at the end of the year. There are pre-written questions to choose from, or you can write your own – it’s as easy or as personalized as you want it to be. Skip a week if you want. Mom can catch up after she skips a couple of weeks of questions (ahem, Mom, you’re like two weeks behind here).
I’ve scheduled my questions out for about 4 months at a time so I’m hands-off, just reading her responses when they come in. This isn’t a labor intensive gift for you. It’s just special and fun, truly way better than anything you can find on a store shelf.
My Gift to My Mom
So I mentioned that I bought this for my Mom for Christmas, and when you make your purchase you can choose the date it gets ‘delivered’ via email to the recipient. That allows you people who have your act together to order in advance, and those of us who are winging it as fast as we can still are able to deliver a beautiful gift on time. This is a big-time perk of StoryWorth.
Right away I chose a bunch of questions to ask my Mom. Here’s her Table of Contents so far, the questions I asked her in order:
StoryWorth takes care of emailing the questions to my Mom each week, and when she submits her answer, I get an email with her response. You can also add other recipients as well, so I have those emails going to my sister so she can read all of our Mom’s answers also.
My Mom is really enjoying this and has given such thoughtful responses to my questions. She’s even added photos to most of her writing which is going to make for the neatest book! I cannot wait to have it made! And you can order extra copies for siblings, grandkids, whoever. It’s really like a family history book that everyone is going to want to read.
Now. You want to see some of her answers? I got her permission to give you a small peek! Here are a couple of snippets of some of my favorite responses:
What stories have you been told about yourself as a baby?
I was always told that when I was brought home from the hospital all the cousins who were neighbors came and all liked me a lot. They used to come every day after school and argue about who got to hold me the most. There were aunts and grandmothers that came, also. I had so many people holding me that Mum said I never learned to walk til I was almost two years old!
What advice would you give your 20 year-old self?
My advice to my 20 year old self would be, you’re good enough, you’re smart enough, you’re pretty enough to put yourself out there with all those you think are better, smarter, and prettier and get an education and you will be proud of yourself for doing so for the rest of your life, and you will have an enriched life.
See? This stuff is so priceless. I love reading these stories about my Mom and love sharing them with my kids. StoryWorth has not only provided me with a special gift (even at the last minute!) but has allowed me to get to know my Mom better. Priceless.
