I was provided with complimentary Shoes for Crews to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
I’ve held a few jobs in my life where I was on my feet a lot. When I was younger I worked at an amusement park which had me trekking all over the grounds all day long, sometimes for 16 hour shifts. Later I was a waitress, and now I’m a Mom and spend the day chasing my kids. Obviously I’m also a blogger and while that requires me to spend a fair amount of time on the computer, most of that time I’m not sitting down. I get uncomfortable sitting for that long, plus sitting is like the new smoking – terrible for your health. So I try to stand while I work as much as possible.
I never used to understand why my Mom never took her shoes off when she was at home and now that I’m a little older (just a little older, not OLD!) I get it. I used to be barefoot every chance I got. Now, it’s more comfortable to me to have some support even when I’m just standing in the kitchen cooking dinner, doing dishes, or writing up a blog post. When Shoes for Crews reached out to me I was thrilled just to see the word ‘shoes’. I’ve got a bit of a shoe addiction I happily feed any chance I get. My addiction is discriminatory though. You won’t find any $1 flip flops in my overflowing shoe closet. That’s not to say I spend a fortune on shoes (I’m a deal hunter, remember?!) but I firmly believe that money spent on high quality, supportive and comfortable shoes is money well-spent. Ruining your back for a pair of $1 flip flops? Count me out.
Shoes for Crews has a wide selection of shoes for men and women and they’re specifically designed with comfort and support in mind for those of us that are on our feet a lot. That might be nurses, bartenders, servers, letter carriers, teachers, people who work outside on a work site, and even professionals that might be on their feet leading meetings or trainings. There are lots of jobs that aren’t desk jobs, and that’s a good thing. Sitting on your butt for hours on end is seriously bad for your health. So STAND UP and get moving, and find the right shoes to keep you comfortable while you’re doing it!
I chose these cool Pegasus shoes to review and I love them! First and foremost, I really like the look. I’m not really into a bulky shoe and these are stylish and a bit sporty looking. They’re also very lightweight, a big plus in my book. I don’t like heavy shoes weighing me down. And it might go without saying that they’re comfortable and supportive! They have the Shoes for Crews trademarked Mighty-Grip slip-resistant outsole that’s been proven to be 100% more slip-resistant than the nearest competitor. Wow. Impressive! I remember being a waitress on a pretty slick kitchen floor and these would have been great for that job and a heck of a lot safer. They even come with a little grid cleaner to remove any junk that might get stuck in the soles. Great idea, right?
One thing I have to touch on here, because maybe you’re thinking it anyway, is that supportive shoes are old people shoes. C’mon, it’s not nice but you thought it, didn’t you? Well let me tell you with authority, it’s not true. Supportive shoes come in all styles for all people and they’re important. They’re important for your body’s health. Shoes For Crews has so many styles that are truly stylish! These are just a few of my favorites for women. Which ones do you like best?
How about the men’s styles? These are the ones I like best! One of the cool things about shopping on SFC is that the site is really easy to navigate. They have menus along the top and left sides that allow you to quickly narrow down what you’re looking for starting with shoes for men or women, then what style you need (casual, athletic, steel toe, etc.), color, price range, and size. You can even search by occupation!
Keep your health in mind and take care of your body. You deserve it!
