When you spend as much time doing wash as I do, you appreciate high quality appliances. Check out the Samsung ActiveWash Laundry Pair at Best Buy!

Hands up, moms, if you spend half your life in the laundry room. I’m with you. I am in there every single day doing wash (how do these kids go through this much clothing?). If there’s something out there to make the job easier and actually more FUN (yup, I said fun) I’m interested. And guess what? I found it!

As a Best Buy Blogger I was sent the Samsung ActiveWash Washer and Electric Dryer with Steam to test out and share with you. I’ve been using this set for a few weeks now and I can honestly tell you I do LESS wash and have more fun doing it. Believe it!

Samsung ActiveWash Washer With Built-In Sink

When you spend as much time doing wash as I do, you appreciate high quality appliances. Check out the Samsung ActiveWash Laundry Pair at Best Buy!

The delivery process with Best Buy is awesome. I had a couple of great guys come to the house, make sure everything was going to fit, then come back a few days later with the appliances to install them. They made sure I had everything I needed to get rolling and within a few minutes of them walking out the door I had started my first load of wash.

Aren’t they lovely? If you can find an appliance attractive, well, that’s where I’m at with these babies. Come to mama.

Hands down, my favorite feature of this washer is the built-in sink. My kids both play sports, and particularly my son the baseball player has given me MANY occasions to use this sink.  The glass door on the top of the washing machine will open up to reveal this sink. (By the way, that drawer in the back with the blue dispensers is where your detergent goes.)

In Wash Basin

Treat your stains with whatever you use (I sprayed the spots on this shirt) and then push the button on the left side of the sink to turn it on and the water will flow in so you can soak your stained items. It doesn’t turn off automatically, so hit that button again to stop the water flow.

Wash Basin in Washing Machine

The good news is that you’ll never overflow the sink because the back of it is open and any excess water will just pour down into the main wash basin. When you’re done soaking your clothing, open the lid to the washing machine and the clothing and water will all fall down the back of that wash basin right into the laundry tub! No mess, no hassle. I LOVE this feature!

Samsung ActiveWash Washing Machine

The stainless steel drum doesn’t have an agitator like my old washer did, which not only is easier on your clothing but provides a LOT more room for your wash. So I’m actually doing less laundry than I used to because now I can wash  more clothing in one shot.

I have to note that if you’re a short person like me (5’2″ over here) you’re probably going to need to get yourself a little step stool. This washer is deep and I actually can’t stand on the ground and reach all the way into it to get the little socks and other items that stick to the bottom. It’s one extra step (haha, pun intended there, folks) but again, the deep tub allows me to do LESS laundry, so it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me but something worth mentioning. I’m looking out for you here, fellow shorties. 😉

Controls on ActiveWash Washer

The Samsung Activewash Washer has a LOT of options for your laundry cycles. You’re actually going to want to dig into those manuals that come with the machine to get a better idea of what types of loads are best for each cycle.

And before you select your cycle, you actually have to hit that power button and turn the machine on! Same with the dryer (we’ll get to that in a minute).

Controls on ActiveWash

On the other side of the display you can select your temperature, spin level, and soil level, plus some other features. If you have a cycle you use often (for me that is Normal wash, Cold water, Medium Spin, Normal Soil, and Eco Plus) you can save it as ‘My Cycle’ in the upper right corner and hit that every time you want to use it, no need to select each option individidually.

You might notice one thing it doesn’t ask you to select is load size. The machine will go through a sensor process to determine how much water is needed in your load and how large it is. It will also tell you how long your cycle is going to run (that’s a little blurry in this pic – it’s a very reflective display – but you can kind of see that it’s 57 minutes here).

Once you’re ready to go, press the Start button and hold it in for 3 seconds. You’ll hear the lid lock and that sensor process start. Find a sock on the floor that didn’t make it into the washer? Hit Pause which will unlock the lid and you can throw it in and then start it right back up again.

Samsung 14-Cycle Electric Dryer with Steam

Dryer

This dryer is the Samsung – 7.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Electric Dryer with Steam and I love it. My last dryer often required me to run the cycle more than once, especially with heavy things like towels. They were never dry after the first run. This dryer gets everything dry the first time and knows exactly when to shut off which I love.

The first time I ran it it played a little jingle when the load was done and I was looking out the window for the ice cream truck! I think you can change that but I haven’t yet because hey, it’s fun!

Front Load Dryer

Like the washer, this dryer has multiple settings you can choose from. I really like that there’s a couple of options for people like me who have a habit of not exactly emptying the dryer right away. The Wrinkle Away cycle will run your clothing for 20 minutes off and on and works like a charm. These Steam Cycles are perfect for keeping your laundry and dryer fresh!

Similar to the washer, this dryer has a Power button, a Start/Pause button, and allows you to save a My Cycle, or a group of settings that you use regularly. It also has a timer so you know when your clothing will be dry. Again, no need to tell it the load size and this is very high capacity, so I can get a lot of wash done in one shot.

Not shown in the picture is a rack that comes with this appliance which fits right inside and allows you to dry your shoes, stuffed animals, or a sweater without tumbling them inside the machine.

ActiveWash Dryer

See all those towels? And they were all totally DRY after the first run! You’re probably thinking, yes Lindsay, that’s how a dryer works. But I’ve actually never had one that dried the towels in one cycle. They always needed a few more minutes so this is very cool to me. It’s the simple things.

Lint Filter

And that lint filter works like a boss! We just had our dryer vent cleaned a couple of months ago because of lint build up so I really like how much lint this dryer collects.

When you decide you’re in the market for a new washer and dryer you’ll want to check out the Samsung ActiveWash set. I am so happy with them and laundry is not nearly the chore it used to be. I can’t even believe I’m saying that but I actually love these new appliances so much and enjoy all of the features that it’s kinda fun to do the wash – and when I can have it done FASTER because of their higher capacity? Bonus!

You can check out the washer and dryer at Best Buy.
