Revolar Review: Safety In A Wearable One-Touch

This post may contain affiliate links. View my disclosure policy for details.

Moms, we always want to be there for our kids if they are in trouble. Now that is easier with Revolar, a wearable one-touch device that keeps you connected.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month so my partnership with Revolar to share their product is really timely and I have to tell you, I think this is GENIUS. Revolar is a wearable personal safety device that empowers you to live your life free of fear. As a woman and mom to young kids, I am so thankful that something like this exists. Knowing help is a touch away is so comforting.

Parents, if you have kids heading off to college or walking home from after-school sports, this is going to be a must-have for them for their peace of mind and yours. Let me show you how it works!

What Is Revolar?

Revolar Review

Revolar sent me a device to review and it’s SO simple to set up. The package comes with an easy-to-follow guide, the Revolar itself, and two cases: One is a loop that you can hook onto a keychain or bookbag, and one is a wearable clip that you can attach to your belt loop, waistband, bra, whatever!

Take a look at the video below to see how Revolar provides an extra layer of safety, and then read on to see how I set mine up.

Revolar- Wearable Personal Security

Isn’t it brilliant? I just think this is the smartest product. So let me show you how I paired my Revolar with my phone.

Setting Up Your Revolar

Revolar Use

The Revolar app is free and available for both iPhone and Android devices. Download that and then run through the set up process. To start it will tell you to pair your Revolar with your phone by holding in the button on your device. This works via Bluetooth so  make sure you have that turned on on your phone. The pairing code is provided for you to input when the app asks for that.

The app will tell you when you are connected and take a couple of minutes to set up. Then it takes you through a practice run sending out alerts. You’ll also select a 4-digit pin to use to cancel.

Selecting Contacts

Two clicks of the button sends out a yellow alert which means you want someone to call and check in with you, but you’re not in urgent danger. Three clicks sends out a red alert and means you need immediate assistance. Once you’ve practiced clicking and sending out alerts, you’ll be ready to select your contacts.

You can pick contacts right from your phone contact list, and select which ones get yellow alerts and which ones get red alerts. I’ve selected my husband and Mom to be notified if I’m in need of help.

What Happens When You Click for Help?

Revolar Add Contact

This is a screenshot of my husband’s phone. The first text is a message letting him know that I want to use him as an emergency contact. Once he accepted I was sent a notice of his confirmation.

The second text is what he got after I did a test with the Revolar and clicked the button twice to send out a Yellow Alert.

Revolar Alert

When he clicked the link, this is the screen that popped up. You can see it allows him to quickly call me and see exactly where I am.

Revolar Reviews

Think of the application for this! As a woman and mom I’m thinking about how Revolar makes me feel more secure when I’m out alone, how it makes me feel better about my kids being able to reach me when needed. But what about people with mobility or health issues? This is perfect for being able to let someone know you need help when you can’t get to the phone.

When you’re shopping for back-to-school for your college kids, add Revolar to the list. How much better would you feel knowing your child could reach out for help immediately if they need it?

Learn more about Revolar by reading on their website. You can also follow on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news on this really important piece of wearable technology.

How easy is it clicked? If I have this in my backpack or purse, I’m concerned about it accidentally being clicked and a message sent.

Good question! I’ve never had that problem. You have to compress it twice or 3x quickly which is unlikely to happen accidentally.

I was interested in this product for my elderly mom. However she does not have a cell phone. Does this system work when the user does not have a mobile phone?

I don’t think it does, Dan. I believe she’d need a phone to pair it with.
