April 22 was Earth Day! Did you do anything to celebrate or think of any ways you can go a little greener this year? I’ve got some great, practical ideas to share this week and have lots of awesome reviews and giveaways for eco-friendly products. Let’s celebrate reaching 5,000 fans on Facebook and celebrate Earth Day together. This review and giveaway is part of Pandora’s Deals 5K Earth Day Giveaway!
This week’s Wildwood Soapworks giveaway is part of my Earth Day celebration, which is perfect because these products are my favorite eco-friendly personal care products. Without bogging you down with too much soap talk, here’s what you need to know: Wildwood Soapworks uses only all-natural, organic ingredients in their products. You won’t find any man-made fragrance oils that contain nasty chemical that are not only bad for us and our skin , but are really bad for the water supply that we wash them down into. This stuff is good for you, good for your skin, and it’s really just a special treat to use it.
I had the opportunity to review Velvet Hammer soap this week. I requested this one as my next review because it just looked so cool and I’ve never tried a black soap before! Isn’t it the most unique soap you’ve ever seen? I used it just once and it was my new favorite. My husband loves this one, too. Sometimes men are a little funny about using smell-good soaps, but this one isn’t florally or sweet smelling so it’s perfect for both women and men. It does smell amazing, though. I had to fight this one out of my 3yo. son’s hands when the box arrived. He went on a sniffing frenzy!
Velvet Hammer includes Bulgarian lavender, black pepper essential oils, activated bamboo charcoal – a skin detoxifyer, and SEVEN different certified organic oils. Wow. No wonder this stuff is so delicious to use. It smells amazing, lathers great, and truly nourishes your skin. It really moisturizes so well. One thing that surprised me about this soap was that my hands actually had streaks of black on them when I started washing them with the soap. I’m not sure why this surprised me – parts of the soap *are* black, after all! Just as soon as I lathered it up I was left with white suds, no more black. Just don’t be alarmed when you notice this too!
This is definitely a new favorite for us. If you’re looking for a truly unique, very moisturizing, and just plain special soap, this one is your guy. I love it so much it actually helps me drag myself out of bed at 6am to shower before I get the kids up for school. That’s saying something, people. I don’t care for mornings. At all. 😉
Wildwood Soapworks is generously offering four of my readers a bar of their own Velvet Hammer soap!
