This is going to be the year I get organized. Who’s with me? Turns out I’ve been with me for about the last 5-10 years when I’ve sworn my New Year’s resolution to get organized every January 1 and then get defeated by my own habits. Clutter drives me insane but I’ve never been a neat freak and I’m okay with that. My house is lived in, as I think it should be. Still, it’s amazing how much more at ease I feel when things are in their rightful place. I have learned that what I REALLY need to do is get rid of stuff. The less stuff I have the easier it is to keep my house and life organized. So that’s a work in progress. And I’m determined to clean up my act with the remaining stuff I do want to keep.
This past weekend we went to Target and I bought an over-the-door hanger for our bathroom, similar to this one. I spent about $10 and have permanently cleaned up my bathroom. Now there’s a place for my robe, jammies, sweater, whatever I need to hang. It’s ridiculous how happy I am about this hanger! I think there are helpful things like this you can use throughout your home to make it easier to stay organized. If you know you have a place to put things, they are less likely to wind up on the kitchen counter, the floor, the bed, wherever you and your family tend to toss stuff.
Here are 40 solutions to problem areas all over your house that can help you feel more sane and organized in 2017. I definitely suggest getting yourself some labels or a label maker while you’re doing your overhaul.
Happy New Year! It’s going to be a great one with less stuff and more organization. That means less time picking up and more time for FUN! 😀
