Have you ever looked at the ingredients list on your skincare products? You have to wonder what some of this stuff is. And more importantly, why is it in all of our products, and why are we using them? The stuff you put ON your body is just as important as what you put in it. So when I discovered Olive Natural Beauty I was pretty excited to learn that they use only extra virgin olive oil and other organic, natural ingredients in their products.
Olive Natural Beauty was founded in 2009 by Jess Lauren, who realized that there was a lacking supply of organic, homemade skin care that harnessed the power of olive oil. Read more about Jess here. She’s smart as a whip and cute as a button to boot. So to fill the gap, Jess founded Olive Natural Beauty, an American company located in Massachusetts that supplies only the highest quality organic skin care.
I got to try a few of their products and immediately fell in love. Let me tell you about them. The first product I used was the Lemon & Lavender Lip Balm. The first thing I noticed about it is that it’s very thin, closer to the size of a pencil versus a tube of lipstick. And I really like that. You can keep it on your lips without getting it on the surrounding skin and it fits neatly in your pocket or wallet if you want to take it on the go. The next thing I noticed was the smell. It’s divine! Not overpowering, just enough lemon and lavender to smell fresh. It’s an interesting combination because I find lemon invigorating and lavender relaxing. So it’s almost like a calm energy smell. That sounds about like what I need most of the time! Finally, it works great. It goes on smooth and leaves your lips feeling amazingly soft. I have a hodge podge of different lip balms in my purse and this is definitely my go-to now. This lip balm is made with organic grape seed and extra virgin olive oils, beeswax, and organic lemon, lemongrass, and lavender essential oils. All good stuff, all good for you!
The second product I tried was the Olive Bar Oat & Honey Bar Soap. Now I’ve tried a lot of soaps, even a lot of soaps made with organic ingredients, but this soap really stood out to me. The lather is so RICH. It’s just so creamy and rich, I wish I had a better pool of adjectives here! You can tell immediately how moisturizing and good for your skin this stuff is. I didn’t notice a strong smell with this one. It just smells very natural and it’s really perfect for use in the wintertime when your skin tends to dry out. I think it’s great for little kids, too. My son’s skin gets really dry in the colder weather and using this Olive Bar really helps keep his skin soft.
The final product I tried was the Natural Beauty Mist – Refreshing Rosemary Body Spray. I LOVE this stuff. So what is it? It’s a spray that you can use anywhere on your body to give a burst of moisture and promote healthy tone and texture. Honestly, I didn’t know that I’d find much use for this. But one spritz and I was hooked. It smells amazing. This variety is made with extra virgin olive oil, distilled water, and organic rosemary and spearmint essential oils. The combined scent of those two oils is just fantastic. It’s a lively scent, the spearmint always wakes me up, and I love the smell of rosemary too. It’s just very natural. When I need a pick-me-up during the day I give myself a spritz of this, usually on my neck (it’s great on the back of your neck to wake you up!) or even on my face. I just close my eyes and spritz. It goes on lightly so I don’t ruin my make up and it’s a nice little boost of moisture, great smell, and some zip to get you moving! Olive Natural Beauty suggests sticking the bottle in the fridge for a bit to get a cool mist. What a genius idea over the summer!
For one month starting November 15, 2012, Olive Natural Beauty is on a mission to ‘Save Our Skin‘! They are having an Indiegogo fundraiser to raise money to become one of only 50 skin care companies in the world that are USDA certified organic. Right now Olive Natural Beauty is a one-woman show. This fundraiser will allow the expansion of the product line and make them more widely available. If the fundraising goal is met, half of what’s donated will be given away in Olive Natural Beauty products to help people everywhere practice safe skin care! Plus, every donation will be rewarded with prizes like lip balms, tote bags, and more. If you believe in organic skin care, doing what’s healthy for your skin (it’s your biggest organ, you know!), and supporting small American businesses, this is a fantastic way to support those causes while getting a little goodie for yourself in return.

Thanks so much for sharing this review! I’ve been looking for organic, all natural and healthy skincare products. I have sensitive skin and the products that I find department stores or drug stores are too harsh. I think I’m definitely going to try Olive Natural Beauty.
