Hotel Bruce: New Disney-Hyperion Book Will Have Your Kids Laughing + Giveaway

You know I love to read and some of my very favorite books are those that I can share with my kids. There’s an adorable new book for children that will be on store shelves October 18, and I’ve partnered with Disney Hyperion to review and giveaway a copy. Hotel Bruce is both adorable and hilarious and while it’s geared toward younger kids, ages 3-5, my 7 year-old son got such a kick out of it. Kids who love animals will adore this story and the illustrations.

Hotel Bruce

Children’s books with really engaging pictures that make my kids laugh are always their favorites. Hotel Bruce even had me cracking up within the first couple of pages. Look on the picture above: “But he was their mom.” This is the kind of story we love! Silly but sweet.

When Bruce gets home from a southern migration trip with his goslings, he is tired. He is grumpy. And he is definitely not in the mood to share his home with the trio of mice who have turned his den into a hotel.

There’s a possum pillow fight wreaking havoc in one room, a fox luring guests into a stew in the kitchen, and a snuggly crew of critters hogging the bed. Bruce growls and grumbles and tries to throw them all out, but the entrepreneurial mice just can’t take a hint. Bruce is in a little over his head, especially once the goslings join the staff. Will this grumpy bear ever get his quiet, peaceful den back to himself?

The pictures are colorful and engaging, and while it’s a great story to read to the younger kids, a child my son’s age (he’s in 2nd grade) can have a lot of fun reading this with expression, something his teacher is working on with the kids.

About Ryan T. Higgins

ryanthiggins

Hotel Bruce’s author is Ryan T. Higgins, and not only did he write the book but he also illustrated it! Very talented. And I already can tell you that he has a great sense of humor.

Ryan T. Higgins is the author/illustrator of Mother Bruce. He does NOT live with four geese, but he and his family do live with a tortoise and a menagerie of other pets. At one time or another, Ryan has been friends with a porcupine, a raccoon, a beaver, dozens of mice, and a couple of squirrels, but he has never found a moose in his bed. He always peeks under the covers, though.

Hotel Bruce will be in stores on October 18. You can read more on the Disney Books website, and by following Disney Books on Twitter and Instagram.

I keep my 2 granddaughters a few times a week. They are 2 and 3 (but they are only 3 months apart in age). I would love to have this to read to them during our reading times. They would really enjoy this with the bear.
