It’s Monday again already! I hope you all had a good weekend. We finally got some snow here in PA and the my daughter had some fun playing in it while my son caught a cold. ‘Tis the season.
Monday’s Moment this week is an introduction to our first pet, Lady. Well, her official name is Lady but more often she goes by Miss, Sweet Miss to be exact. We have a funny thing with nicknames in our house. None of us go by our real names!
So let me tell you about Miss. Almost 10 years ago my soon-to-be-husband at the time and I were getting ready to leave his apartment and go get our engagement photos taken. From the kitchen we heard what sounded like a baby crying out. It was coming from outside, so we walked down three flights of stairs to open the door to the outside and see this beautiful cat, meowing from beside the dumpster in the parking lot. She ran right over to us and we brought her inside. She was dirty and looked like she had been outside for a while, homeless.
After posting many flyers to try to find her owners with no response, we decided to keep her. As a young frisky gal she liked to attack our feet and be playful, and she was also very sweet and cuddly. Miss is now almost 11 years old and though at times we notice her age starting to show, she still holds her own with our feisty little dog Sam, and is very affectionate when she wants to be. She is a cat, after all! Her favorite place to snuggle up is on our daughter’s bed.
Miss has been a member of our family since before my husband and I were a family. I’m so glad to have the chance to introduce you to her!
Do you have a special cat? Dog? I’d love to hear about your pets!

Lady took great care of our younger disabled cat too. She has a big heart!
