We were provided with complimentary lodging at Melia Orlando to facilitate my review. The opinions in this post are 100% mine. You can read my full disclosure policy here.

So many of my friends are either on or planning Florida vacations right now. I’m so jealous! My family had so much fun in Kissimmee last fall in no small part because of the awesome hotel we stayed at during our trip. The Melia Orlando is gorgeous and ideal for a vacationing family. It’s where luxury meets location with great amenities that make your stay completely comfortable, and it’s right in the heart of all of the tourist attractions like Disney World, Universal Orlando, and any store and restaurant you could ever dream of right down the road. Let’s take a little tour.

Here’s the front of the Melia Orlando and the lobby where you check in is just inside those doors. Before we go inside, can we just take a minute to enjoy the palm trees please? Gorgeous.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the resort is arranged in a sort of circle so it immediately feels homey.

The lobby is so stylish and the staff are SO friendly. While the kids were waiting for me to check in one of the staff was giving them a piece of candy (he asked me first) to keep them occupied. Much appreciated after a long day of travel! There’s also an Internet kiosk in the lobby so you can print boarding passes and an ATM machine.

Downstairs the Gastrobar restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. I love that they offer several of small plates on their menu so you can try a bunch of stuff and share.

Upstairs is the Fuego restaurant, and breakfast is served here daily including Teddy Bear waffles for the kids! I ordered French toast with a sided of bacon and strawberries and it was divine. Really fantastic food! Fuego is also open for dinner. If you choose to leave the hotel for any of your meals the quaint village of Celebration, Florida is just down the road the the Melia offers free transportation to and from local attractions including these shopping and dining spots (and the grocery store, too!).

There’s my little Leo making his way around the building to find our hotel room.

In the elevator lobby on each floor is a huge wall mural of famous artwork. It’s stunning! Here’s a collage of a few of them. Do you recognize any of them?

The kids got such a kick out of this hallway. The building is actually curved so the hallways are too.

Our suite included a king sized bed in the master bedroom plus an attached full bathroom.

This is where the kids stayed, each in their own beds (yay!) so really you could very easily sleep 6 in this suite. They also had a full bath.

The kitchen comes complete with a range, refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. We hit the grocery store right away and bought some breakfast items and stacks so we wouldn’t have to eat out every meal. One night I made spaghetti on the stove (all the dishes, pots and pans are there for your use). This is such a huge perk of the Melia Orlando suites, especially when you’re traveling with kids. It’s so convenient to be able to feed them right in your room.

The living room included a comfy couch and chair, and in the lower right corner you can see just the edge of the dining table where we ate.

Open up those curtains in the living room to reveal this view and the balcony. This is the best part, because when you peek over that balcony…

Ta da! How amazing is this pool? We LOVED it and got in every chance we had. That was all the kids wanted to do as soon as we arrived…and so we swam! The pool is 360 degrees around with a zero-entry end for the kids to safely play in the water. If you look closely you can see that hot tub in the middle of the circle. Ah, I loved that hot tub so much. The pool is open year round! Yes, even in the winter (okay you Floridians don’t even know about winter, but this is why we love Florida) from 6am to 11pm. Swim your heart out. We did!

Our first night at the Melia! All they wanted to do was get in that pool.

Lily swam until it got pretty dark. I had to excuse myself from the pool and get into that hot tub.

So pretty here. I love the atmosphere both in the daytime and nighttime. Doesn’t it look so relaxing? It really is.

On the pool deck just outside of the Gastrobar restaurant are these pretty tables and umbrellas. The lights make it feel magical!

The Melia Orlando is a perfect place to stay on your next Central Florida vacation. We enjoyed being there so much. We were totally comfortable in our room and so close to everything we wanted to do. Now THIS is my kind of family friendly hotel! 🙂 Love that the rooms pretty much have a full kitchen in them. We try not to eat out for every meal when traveling- it gets expensive for sure! And that hot tub… I would be in there every evening too, lol!

Melia looks absolutely fantastic! I love it when hotels provide the option of rooms with kitchens, it makes it soooo much nicer when you’re traveling with kids especially. Love that swimming pool, too! Thanks for sharing, I’ll definitely keep Melia in mind the next time our family travels to Orlando!
