I was provided with a complimentary Maggie Bags purse to facilitate this review.  The opinions in this post are 100% mine.  You can read my full disclosure policy here.

I love unique products, especially when they are eco-friendly and made out of a material you wouldn’t expect.  So I immediately fell in love with Maggie Bags!  I hadn’t heard of this brand before working with them on this review and I’m so excited to have found them and share them with you!

Maggie Bags creates bags and purses made from upcycled seat belt webbing.  Yes, this is the same stuff that’s in your car keeping you strapped in. But the government standards on seat belts are so stringent that every year tons of this stuff gets rejected.  Enter Maggie Bags, who uses it to create these beautiful and interesting bags!  You can read more about their story here, and shop all the different bag designs, too.  There are so many cool ones to choose from!

Right away I fell in love with this Butterfly Bag. I had a hard time choosing a color because they’re all great, but I thought black would be the most versatile and I’ve absolutely loved using it.  Let me tell you what I love about it:

It’s awesome looking.  Well, it is, and that’s got to be what I love most.  I can’t tell you how many people have asked me where I got my bag.  It’s definitely a conversation piece and I know it gets noticed everywhere I go.  Kinda cool!

Inside Butterfly Bag

It holds a lot!  This bag is a great size.  It’s actually pretty slim and fits nicely along your side without bulking out, but it’s got a decent length to it that allows you to carry quite a bit in there.  It’s been great when I want to take my whole day planner with  me to my daughter’s soccer practice so I can get some work done while she’s kicking around.

But it stays organized.  There are a lot of little compartments on the inside of the bag. (And by the way, don’t you love the purple?)  At first I thought these really seemed too small to keep much in but they’re the perfect size. My cell phone, some pens and crayons, a pack of gum, it all fits neatly in there.

Outside Pocket Butterfly Bag

I love these outside pockets.  These are perfect for stashing something you reach for often but don’t want to get lost in the bottom of your purse. I keep my lip gloss in there and have been known to tuck my coupons in there, too!  The pockets in the front have zippers so you don’t have to worry about anything falling out.

Feet on Bag

There are ‘feet’ on the bottom to keep your purse clean.  You may not realize how often you set your purse down on a floor that’s well, maybe not a place you want to set your purse down.  I’m talking about restaurants, stores, bathrooms, places like that.  This Butterfly Bag has 4 little silver feet on it that keep the bag itself up off the dirty floor. Great idea! It also keeps the bag upright so it doesn’t fall over on its side.

The strap is the perfect length. It’s not too short to throw over your shoulder, but it’s not so long that the bag is hitting your hip when you wear it.  It falls comfortably at just the right area along your side so I can keep it close without it bouncing off my hip.

I completely love this Butterfly Bag and and thrilled to take it with me every time I go out. It always catches an eye or two (or more) and it’s just so functional too. And it’s made of seat belts. When have you ever known a seat belt to tear?  This baby is going to last forever!  A Maggie Bag would be an awesome gift idea, and yes, you are definitely allowed to buy a gift for yourself ladies.   😉

You can stay in touch with Maggie Bags in lots of ways: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram are my favorites. You can also check them out on YouTube where I found some great videos if you really want to get a better look at their bags. And if you’re on Google + or using Polyvore, check them out there, too!

I have an exclusive savings code for you!

Through March 31, use code PANDORASDEALS18 to save 18% sitewide. This is a great deal on a seriously unique product that will last forever.

Maggie Bags is generously offering one of my readers the same Butterfly Bag that I received to review ($114 value!).  This giveaway is open to US residents only ages 18+ and will end on March 3, 2014. You can enter to win [HERE].
