I’m so glad Spring is finally in the air. I don’t know about you but my skin really dries out in the winter. The cold air and windy days don’t help. Even with warmer weather on the horizon I have to take care to keep my hands moisturized so they don’t get dry and crack. I have two kids and three pets so I wash my hands A LOT. That dries them out too, so I was really excited to have the opportunity to try MadeOn Hard Lotion skin care products. They work so well!
MadeOn Hard Lotion is, well… a hard lotion! If you’ve never heard of a solid lotion bar before definitely check this out. I love it not only because of how well it works, but also because it’s so much less sloppy than a liquid lotion. Plus MadeOn lotion bars contain only three natural ingredients: coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax. That’s it! Go take a look at your lotion bottle and tell me if you can pronounce have the stuff in there.
MadeOn Hard Lotion comes in a little tin (cute!) and you just rub it between your hands so that your body heat softens it up and makes it easy to rub in. The beeswax serves to seal in the moisturizing ingredients. This is really perfect for me since my main area of concern is my hands and how often I wash them, which dries them out. I find that one application of MadeOn lotion can get me through several handwashings without the need to reapply. My hands stay soft! No wonder the product is called Bee Silk!
Hard lotion is for those with cracked skin, split heels, alligator legs or rough elbows who have been frustrated with the lack of effectiveness of off-the-shelf lotions. It’s also for those who are concerned about the excessive use of steroids to control their skin problems and are looking for natural relief. It’s for both men and women who appreciate applying lotion that doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy or sticky.
This lotion is truly a miracle worker for those of us with stubborn dry skin. Check out the video below from Renee, the owner. She does a great job of explaining just how her products work:
In addition to the Hard Lotion Bee Silk Bars, MadeOn makes a Bee Silk Jr. that’s perfect for kids or really delicate skin. My son gets little dry red patches on his cheeks, especially when he has a cold, and I’ve been using this product on him. It works so well. I apply it before bedtime and he wakes up with soft, smooth, KISSABLE cheeks! I can’t get enough of his little cheekers! 😀 This product has less beeswax in it so it’s a little softer.
The Lip Balms that MadeOn makes are fantastic! I REALLY love these and rarely go anywhere without them. I like to tuck at least one in my purse so I always have some dry-lip relief with me. MadeOn Lip Balms are made with the same ingredients that the hard lotion is made with. So again, no weird additives. You know exactly what you’re putting on your body. I was able to try the peppermint balm which contains natural peppermint essential oil. It’s the perfect amount to give you a refreshing boost. But what I like most is how well it moisturizes your lips!
My favorite lip balm, however, is the tinted one! I am not a huge lipstick wearer. I don’t know, it just often looks so unnatural. But I like a hint of color so I look like I have some life in me! These are the perfect combination of moisturizing lip care with a slight boost of color. I got the Terra Cotta balm and it has just a slight shade of reddish brown to it. It’s perfect!
If you or your kids suffer from dry skin or lips and are looking for natural personal care products, definitely check out MadeOn. The prices are totally reasonable, nothing more than you’d pay in a drugstore for the same type of thing, except these are really great quality products that are good for your skin and don’t include all the junky ingredients. Check out the MadeOn Hard Lotion Facebook page and Twitter page, and take a few minutes to look at their YouTube videos, too. I love this! Renee shares so many great tips with us on how to make some of your own personal care products! Great products, great company, great opportunity to take better care of your skin!
