My email inboxes (yes, plural – I have three of them) overflow on a daily basis. It’s pretty amazing how fast I’ve gotten at weeding out anything I don’t need and hitting that delete key. The mail in the mailbox is the same. I can sort that junk mail like a boss and get to the good stuff, which sadly is usually the monthly bills I can’t ignore or one of the magazines I subscribe to.
It’s rare to get an actual personal piece of mail in my mailbox that someone sent just to tell me hi, that they’re thinking of me, that they love me. Why don’t we do more of this? We need to. My daughter got a card in the mail from her friend this week and I was just as excited to see a bright green envelope mixed in with the rest of the usual stuff as Lily was.
It’s easy to make someone’s day with a card, and Hallmark Signature cards are the ones I love best. They are literally the most unique, stylish cards I’ve ever seen. There’s a card for every occasion, and every personality. The cool part is that they not only let someone know what they mean to you, but they’re the kind of card that will find a permanent home on display on a bookshelf, desk, or in my case, the kids’ lockers.
Hallmark sent me a variety of Signature cards to get familiar with their style and quality. Each one I opened spoke to me. I should send this one to my friend Julie who I miss chatting with.
This one is actually perfect for my daughter to give to her best friend, Maddie, who has a birthday coming up in December. What little girl wouldn’t love a card that’s also a shiny golden purse?
The messages inside are as sweet and special as the cards themselves.
This card is so pretty, so artsy. It reminds me of my friend Keri Lyn who is there to lend an ear for me daily. I’m going to send this one to her to thank her for her kindness.
While many of the Hallmark Signature cards made me think of friends I want to reach out to, my Signature Style is loving on my kids, being their mom first. So I found two that I wanted to surprise them with, a special message from Mom to let them know how much I love them. This one with the Xs and Os is my son Leo, all the way.
He’s such a snuggly kid, always up for a kiss and a hug. I take advantage of it because I know one day he’ll outgrow this sweet stage.
I wrote a little message to Leo inside and put his card in his room for him to find. He was thrilled to get ‘mail’ and a note from Mommy!
Both of my kids decided they wanted their cards close to them as a pick-me-up, a little reminder that I’m thinking of them and I love them throughout their school days. So when I helped in Leo’s class this week, we hung his card in his locker. Now he’ll think of me and smile (I hope!) every time he sees those Xs and Os.
My daughter Lily is entering the tween stage. Moodiness has entered the building, friends. I loved this card for her that reminds her to ‘Keep Laugh on your To-Do List.’ Smile, have fun. Believe me, sometimes she needs the nudge. And how cool is this card, attached to a wooden clipboard? So unique!
I left Lily a little note about how much fun it is for me to laugh and be silly with her. She has my sense of humor which is both scary and amazing for me!
I snuck Leo down the hall to help me hang Lily’s card in her locker while she was in class.
When she came home from school she told me how tickled she was to find it there. I like to think she’ll smile every time she sees it.
So who in your life needs a reminder that you’re thinking about them? Needs some cheering up? Needs to know that you appreciate them in your life? Send them a card that not only says you care, but is also stylish, fun, and pretty enough to be displayed as a reminder that they’re important to you. The fun part about that (speaking from experience here) is that doing this for someone else makes YOU feel amazing too.
My friend Keri Lyn at She Saved has more great Signature cards to share with you!
