My kids share my love of books and we’re going to start telling you more about our favorite kids’ books. I’d love to hear what your kids love most, too. Always looking for great book suggestions.
If Mom Had Three Arms is one we’ve had for a while now, but when I asked my daughter Lily which book she wanted to share with you this was the first one she picked! She’s 8 years-old now and honestly we don’t read it much anymore, but it was a really funny, colorful book that helped her learn to count when she was about 3. This is a hardback book with paper pages, so I don’t think it’s safe around little, little kids. We had to go with board books until my kids stopped trying to tear the pages!
If Mommy had many arms, what could she do? Just imagine! She’d be Supermom, with three arms juggling, or four-armed Mom at a crosswalk, making cars stop and go. And why raise just one hand in class when you can raise…FIVE? As kids count along right up to 20 amazing presidential arms shaking hands, holding babies, signing bills, and saluting the flag, they’ll come up with some great ideas of their own. But best of all, they will remember that Mom only needs her two real arms for hugging.
Here are a few words from Lily the Bookworm (self-titled!) about If Mom Had Three Arms.
Have you read this book? It’s cute, right? You can add it to your collection by grabbing it on Amazon or look for it next time you’re at the bookstore.
Happy reading!
