I am a big believer in adopting a pet if you’re looking to add a new furry member to your family. So many lovable pets are in need of a home and as the owner of 3 awesome stray pets, 2 cats and a dog, I am so glad to be able to help our local Humane League spread the word about some of the adorable pets they have available for adoption. Each week they feature a new Pet of the Week and I’m going to share it with you. If you’re local to Lancaster County, PA, take a look and see if these cuties would be a good fit for your family or a family you know. Not local to Lancaster? Find your closest pet shelter and see who needs a forever home.
This little sweetie is Patches. We have two tuxedo cats so I’m partial to the black and white. She’s gorgeous, too!
Patches is a pretty girl who has been waiting a long time to once again become the loved family member she once was. Surrendered to the Humane League this past December when her owners lost their home, Patches is currently holding the title of “longest resident.” But she’s hoping a kind family will soon bring her into their home and give her a more deserving title like: “most loved,” “highly spoiled” or “best friend.”
At nine years old, Patches has the life experience needed to make her an excellent companion and confidant. She’s a quiet soul who enjoys time cuddled in a cozy bed just as much as she likes to solicit attention from her visitors. Patches looks forward to being pampered with lots of grooming sessions and plenty of lap time. Soon after her arrival at the shelter, our vet staff discovered that Patches is diabetic. But now that she has the medicine to keep her healthy, she only needs someone who is can administer it to her once at breakfast and once at dinnertime.
A social little lady, Patches has shared her living space with other felines during her stay at the shelter. She is already spayed, litter-box trained and more than ready to start a new life with you. Bring Patches into your life, give her the love and care she deserves, and you will be rewarded with the love of a wonderful companion!
If you’re interested in learning more about Patches you can visit the Humane League of Lancaster County during their adoption hours (be sure to check the website for hours), or email catadoptions@humaneleague.com.
I’ll have another Pet of the Week to share with you next week and will let you know if I find out that Patches found her family!

Awww, I love the folks at that shelter too and Bryan is a friend of mine. They do such great work there. Kudos to you for helping to spread the word.
