I was compensated by Hoodditt in exchange for providing this review. The opinions in this post are 100% mine. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
As you know I’ve always got my eyes peeled for a good deal. So I’m pretty familiar with all of the daily deal sites and when I had the opportunity to learn more about this new site, Hoodditt, I was definitely interested and really excited to meet with their owner. I learned a lot that I’m going to share with you but the main thing I learned is that Hoodditt is different than any other daily deal site.
A short background:
Hoodditt is brand spankin’ new to the world and just getting rolling but it’s already got some pretty exciting stuff going on. This company is starting out locally in the greater Philadelphia area: South Jersey, King of Prussia, Valley Forge, Delaware Valley, etc. But they’re planning to grow and spread their offers nationally. And since it’s online it can gain traction quickly and be in your neck of the woods soon. hooditt’s focus is on being friendly to local, neighborhood business AND customer friendly and I think they’ve got a really unique, great model here.
How does Hoodditt work for customers?
Hoodditt is really different than the other daily deal sites out there in a few significant ways. Businesses create their offers on Hoodditt with a suggested savings to customers of at least $10. Customers buy these offers for $.99 and use them. If a customer doesn’t redeem their offer before it expires the business will give them a $.99 credit so there’s no money lost, not even $1. And these offers have to be exclusive to Hoodditt (so you can’t find the same offer for free on Facebook or anywhere else).
So every single deal from Hoodditt is only $.99. Yup, $.99 every time and that’s it. Sign up takes only a few seconds and you don’t have to worry about Hoodditt flooding your inbox with a gazillion emails. You’ll get one per week, and beyond that you pick and choose the companies that you want to follow and you’ll find out when they have a new offer out and that’s it. Otherwise, you can check out the new deals on your own. I for one am looking forward to the Hoodditt app which is in development and expected to be available by the end of the year.
What kind of offers will I find?
Businesses are in total control of their offers (read more on that below), so the offers will vary by business. But to give you an idea, here are some offer types that caught my eye while I was just browsing.
- Buy one entree get one free at a restaurant
- $20 off at a restaurant
- 25% off a cut and color at a salon
- 15% off engagement rings
- $10 off a t-shirt at a clothing store
- Free appetizer with the purchase of an entree at a restaurant
How does Hoodditt work for businesses?
Hoodditt is awesome for businesses! I’ve worked with so many fantastic brands, many of them just getting started or local, independently-owned businesses that don’t have much of a marketing budget if any at all. Hoodditt is completely free of charge, free of risk for businesses. Businesses don’t pay a dime to create an account and post an offer on Hoodditt. It’s basically a free advertising opportunity. Can’t beat free, and I love how easy this makes it for small business owners to get their brand out there and bring people into their stores, whether brick and mortar or online shops.
Businesses completely control their offer, too. They’re asked to value it at least $10 and keep it exclusive to Hoodditt. Other than that they can control how many deals are available for purchase, when they expire, how long they’re going to be available on Hoodditt and every other detail. So businesses do exactly what works for them and they do it for free. Fantastic!
Hoodditt is open to all businesses. If you have a small business, online business, maybe an Etsy shop or at-home business you definitely want to check this out. It’s FREE so there’s no risk to you and it literally takes seconds to sign up. And if you’re an established larger business Hoodditt is a great place for you and your customers, too.
The bottom line
I really think the Hoodditt model is a win-win for customers and businesses alike. $.99 for every deal? Can’t beat it! Head over to Hoodditt and check it out. If you don’t see any offers in your area just yet, stay tuned. They’ll be coming!
Follow Hoodditt on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to speed with their growth and new offers!
