My family loves to go out and visit new attractions, see neat shows, and have family-fun experiences together. I think it’s one of my favorite things as a parent: taking them to new places and doing new things with my kids and watching them enjoy it. Recently we had the chance to go see the Harlem Globetrotters when they were in our neck of the woods in Hershey, PA and we had a blast!
I’ve always thought the Globetrotters were cool ever since I was a kid though I never had the chance to see them live. So we were all really excited to get our tickets to go see them perform and play. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’m not what I’d call a HUGE basketball fan. But I can honestly say the whole family had a blast the entire time. The Globetrotters are so entertaining. We laughed so much and enjoyed some good basketball, too!
The Globetrotter players are a talented bunch! Man, they can work that ball! We watched them shoot from halfway across the court, stand on top of the net, hang from the net upside down, dribble between their legs down the court, spin the ball on their heads and all kinds of really cool tricks.
The audience participation was a lot of fun for everyone. Kids did pajama races, shot baskets, and had more fun with the players. The whole crowd was so into the game. And the music was awesome! They play and perform to one toe-tapping playlist. It keeps everyone energized and having fun. Just look at my kids enjoying the show!
Not only did we enjoy the show because the Globetrotters were entertaining, we enjoyed supporting such a great organization. The Harlem Globetrotters do a lot of fantastic charitable work with bullying prevention, keeping kids active, visiting kids in hospitals that wouldn’t otherwise be able to see the team, and more. During the game they played a period with pink balls to bring awareness to breast cancer. They definitely give back to their fans which is awesome.
Head over to the Harlem Globetrotter website and see if there’s a show coming to a city near you. I definitely recommend taking your kids. We had such a good time. Just a great night of family fun!
