HAAN Power & Finesse SI75 Steam Cleaner: Clean Floors and Surfaces, Kill Germs With Just Water + Exclusive $10 Off Code (expires 10/14)

I’ll be honest.  I’m not the world’s best housekeeper.  I do it because I can’t stand the clutter after a while and don’t want my family living in squalor, but cleaning isn’t something I really enjoy.  So I love finding anything to make the job easier and faster.  Get ‘er done, right?  I had the opportunity to review the HAAN Power & Finesse SI75 Steam Cleaner and definitely found a tool to make cleaning nearly every room in the house a snap.  Let me tell you what I love about it!

The HAAN Power & Finesse SI75 Steam Cleaner doesn’t only clean floors. I have another steamer, the Shark S3501 that is just a floor cleaner.  The thing that stands out about this HAAN model is that it is also a handheld steam cleaner so you can easily clean other surfaces in your kitchen, bathroom, even your car or outside your house.  I love the little attachments that make it easy to clean in those impossible-to-reach tight spots. Here’s what’s included in the box:

  • The steam mop (comes in 2 parts, body and handle)
  • Floor protector/ Resting mat
  • Carpet Glide attachment for steaming your carpet
  • 2 Ultra-Microfiber Pads
  • Fresh Rinse Lime & Scale Remover (12)
  • Small Steam Head Attachment
  • Small Steam Head Pad
  • Angled Nozzle Attachment
  • Brush Attachment
  • Handheld Unit Shoulder Strap
  • Extended Flexible Hose
  • Users Manual and Warranty Card

For sure the best stand-out feature of this steam cleaner is the fact that includes a handheld component.  We actually had fun (yup, cleaning AND fun in the same sentence) finding all kinds of uses for this.  My husband cleaned the inside of the dishwasher with it!  He’s a creative guy and I was pretty impressed with all that came out of our dishwasher.  Yikes!  It made quick work of the gunky fingerprints the kids leave on the kitchen cabinets and cleaning the bathroom vanity, toilet, and tub was a breeze.

It’s easy to put together and start using right away.  The steam mop body and handle come in two pieces that you connect by snapping them together and putting a screw through (included) to hold them together.  We had a bit of trouble with this and it ended up being a tw0-person job.  My husband held the pieces together firmly while I screwed the screw into the hole.  After that getting started was a snap.  One thing I love about this HAAN steamer is that the water reservoir is removable.  The Shark steamer that I have has a water reservoir that you have to pour water into while it’s in the unit.  This requires a separate little cup-type thing that’s used to fill it.  With the HAAN I can pop that water container out, fill it, and pop it right back in.  That leaves the water in my sink and not all over the counter while I’m pouring it into the steamer.

The HAAN S175 kills 99.9% of germs with no chemicals.  That’s right!  First of all, that’s awesome because it means you don’t have to buy anything.  No cleaning supplies needed to use this device so you’re not spending any money on them.  Secondly, it’s awesome because it means you’re not spreading chemicals all over your house.  The steam in this cleaner heats to the point that it kills nearly all germs including things like e. coli an dust mites with water alone.  Love that.

It’s fast to use!  Quick and easy, that’s my motto when it comes to worthwhile cleaning tools.  You plug in this HAAN, it heats up and is ready to use in just 20 seconds (you can hear it working and see the steam come out so you know it’s ready).  Run it over your floors and they’ll dry within a minute or two. I can easily get my whole kitchen floor done and have it dry within 15 minutes.  Sure beats the heck out of slopping a traditional mop around, which I can tell you isn’t killing 99.9% of germs, never mind scrubbing the floor on your hands and knees.

How does it stack up to other steamers?  I’ve had the Shark S3501 for a couple years now and though I did have a terrible customer service experience with Shark over our vacuum, I’ve been relatively satisfied with the steam cleaner.  Then I got to try this HAAN S175 and saw all the features that the Shark is missing.  Here’s a quick look at the major differences that stood out to me:

It’s hard to do the HAAN Power & Finesse SI75 Steam Cleaner justice with just a blog post, so I made you a little video so you can see this steamer in action.  Check it out below!

Overall I highly recommend the  HAAN Power & Finesse SI75 Steam Cleaner.  It’s quick and easy to use and I love that it has a handheld attachment so you can use it to clean more than just your floors, and the fact that it’s all done with water and no chemicals is a huge selling point to me.  HAAN has a variety of other hand held steam cleaners also.  Follow HAAN on Facebook and Twitter to hear about their latest products and promotions!  I’ve seen a bunch of discount codes posted there lately.

Want a HAAN S175 for yourself?  Remember the holidays are coming, too.  This would make a great gift!  HAAN has given me an exclusive coupon code for $10 off when you order a HAAN Power & Finesse SI75 Steam Cleaner on their website.  Use code OCTPPD through midnight ET October 14, 2012 to save $10 off your purchase!

I was provided with complimentary HAAN Power & Finesse SI75 to facilitate this review.  The opinions in this post are 100% mine.  You can read my full disclosure policy here.

That looks like a great steamer! Mine didn’t come with any extra hand-held attachments, but I think that’s something I could have used. I also think it looks way easier to use than the Shark you own.

I’ve been wondering what our next vacuum should be…I’m not the best house cleaner either but my husband is a vacuum “enthusiast”! I showed him your review….we’re off to buy one this weekend! Thank you for the video and breakdown, it helps to have a real prospective and not a commercial.
