We are a Jersey Shore lovin’ family and hit the beach several times a year. No vacation is long enough! This year we were invited to spend a weekend in Wildwood, NJ and enjoy Morey’s Piers, an absolute blast on the boardwalk! When you’re planning your next vacation ‘down the shore’ you need to stay here, or be sure to at least plan a day to visit and enjoy the rides, food, water parks and more. I’ll tell you all about our visit and share my favorite pic below!
Morey’s Piers has several resorts to stay in and they’re all awesome and family-friendly. We were provided accommodations at the Pan American hotel and LOVED staying here!
The kids were over the moon when they saw the bunk beds in our family suite. They took turns swapping between top and bottom bunks. The bathroom was roomy and clean, and our bed was comfy.
In a separate space there’s a kitchen area complete with stove and fridge, plus a little eat-in table. There’s another TV in this room and a fold-out couch so you can sleep a couple more people or have a place to relax after you put the kids in bed.
And just a quick shout out to the great PR folks that put together this trip for including a bucket of Johnson’s caramel corn during our stay. It did not last long at all. 😉 (Get some on the boardwalk!)
The kids were so excited to be at the beach, we had to hit the water before we hit the boards. Wildwood has gorgeous beaches. You can see there was no one in the background of my photos and we were there Father’s Day weekend, so there were plenty of people. There’s just a lot of room to spread out so everyone has their space which I love.
I had to pull this little fishy out of the water! It was time to hit the boards and explore Morey’s Piers!
Morey’s Piers offers 3 separate piers of entertainment and there is something fantastic for everyone in your family – young kids, the grandparents, the adventurous teens too.
Here’s an aerial view of all three piers. The closest (bottom of pic) is Adventure Pier. There are a lot of bigger thrill rides on this pier, great for the older kids. You’ll also find artBOX here (read on to learn more about that!).
The middle pier is Mariner’s Pier and we spend a lot of time here. Great family rides on this pier with tons for my kids to do. This is where you’ll find the Giant Wheel (look at all my pics of it!) and Raging Waters water park.
The far pier is called Surfside Pier and we loved that one too! You’ll find the new Kong ride plus Zoom Phloom which was our absolute favorite of the whole trip!
New to Morey’s Piers is artBOX. This is SO much fun! You can find it on Adventure Pier and the kids will love it. Go here to participate in art classes right on the boardwalk on weekend evenings, Friday through Sunday from 5-10pm. This is drop-in style, no need to sign up in advance!
My kids got to make a colorful tissue paper craft and had such a good time with this! It’s a really cool atmosphere to get crafty in – right on the beach!
Aren’t they neat? These were projects for younger kids. The older kids made something a little more intricate. artBOX is a fun way to break up the evening on the boardwalk!
After art class we hit the boardwalk to get on as many rides as possible. And we ate. Because there is delicious food everywhere!
One ride to not miss is the Giant Wheel on Mariner’s Pier. You’ll get the most amazing view from here of the piers and the beach!
This is the view from the top of the Giant Wheel of Mariner’s Pier.
In the 1970s Kong was a popular ride at Morey’s Piers. And guess what? It’s baaaacccck! I rode with my daughter and my husband rode with our son. Let me tell you, this ride is deceptive because it looks pretty laid back but when you get up there swinging in the air it’s pretty wild! We had so much fun! Definitely don’t miss this one.
Our favorite, favorite ride of the trip was the Zoom Phloom on Surfside Pier. This is the coolest flume ride around (and we’ve tried many!). Two big hills to go down, a cool trip under the boardwalk, it’s got it all! We went on more than once!
Morey’s Piers gets really fun at night. I love it when the sun goes down and all the lights come up. Something nostalgic about the boardwalk at night, right?
One thing I loved about Morey’s Piers while we were there is that there were plenty of rides that my kids could go on without us, and plenty that we could do together as a family. There’s a really nice mix so you get a lot of bang for your buck.
Lots of people come out at night so it was a little more crowded, but there’s so much to do, we honestly didn’t wait in line much at all.
One of the kids’ favorites, and a little too spinny for this mom!
The moon was peeking out behind the swings for this shot. We stayed on the boardwalk so late that night. It was too much fun to quit!
Morey’s Piers has two water parks: Raging Waters is on Mariner’s Pier and Ocean Oasis is on Surfside Pier. Your admission band grants you access to both. This is a pic taken from the Giant Wheel of Raging Waters.
I love this combo of pools and slides that you can do with the kids! Perfect for a hot day (especially if you’re not an ocean and sand person).
There are lots of water attractions for smaller kids too. This ship attraction at Ocean Oasis has lots of smaller slides and shallow water for kids to enjoy.
A water park right next to the beach. Heaven!
The beach and rides are amazing, but there’s more. You cannot miss the FOOD! I love this quote on the wall at Jumbo’s. It’s so true!
Curley’s Fries and their famous Lemon Shake Ups are not to be missed. I couldn’t even get a pic before my son had to grab a handful!
And moms and dads, you deserve a break. This mango margarita at Jumbo’s was divine. A perfect beach drink!
One eatery we highly recommend at Morey’s Piers is Stubborn Brothers. This is located all the way at the back of Surfside Pier. Worth the walk because the food is just amazing! They have a great menu and perfect beachy atmosphere.
There’s a story behind this name too, and it has something to do with the Morey brothers, Will and Jack, not being able to agree on a name. Sounds about right!
This was our view from our table! Talk about an oceanside seat! (On the other side of me was the bar, so, yes I had the best seat in the house!)
Can you see all those wires? That’s how they keep the seagulls from harassing you for your food. Why have I never seen this at a beach before?! So smart and it really works!
Ah, my pina colada at Stubborn Brothers. Cheers to a beautiful weekend with my family at Morey’s Piers!
You can learn all about Morey’s Piers on their website, and be sure to find them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for all the latest news straight from the piers!
