It’s not has hard as you might think to cut down on your energy usage and electricity bill.  Check out how I used the Kill-A-Watt Electricity Monitor to find out how much juice my laptop is sucking down and what I can save if I shut it off at night.   Plus I have a lot more energy saving tips for you there, too!

    Don’t turn the lights on until its dark outside. Open the blinds, use the natural light its free!

    plug chargers, lamps, tvs, etc into a power strip and click it off when you are finished using or when you leave for work in the morning! i do this all the time and it saves time by not having to pull the actual plugs on chargers and such just click the button with your foot!

    My energy saving tip is to keep your freezer full, I keep jugs of water in my to keep it as full as possible since I have a big chest freezer.

    I would checkout my extra freezer in the garage (assuming the monitor handles that heavy of a load). We could consider downsizing the unit after knowing what it actually costs us. Thanks for the contest 🙂

    I use the green energy bulbs all through out my house n turn off lights when not in room.. only wash when have full load on either dishwasher or washer… hang out laundry in summer months helps too… keep my hot water tank at 120%

    Energy saving tip – we got a solar panel that sits in the back window of our car and we use it to charge all of our rechargeable batteries.
