Let me just put this out there: laundry isn’t my forte. If there are special washing instructions there’s only one person for that job: my mom. She’s always been a laundry whiz and it’s not a gene I inherited. But I have kids, and those kids play outside a lot and both play sports. And they’re not the neatest eaters in the world, so I deal with more than my fair share of bad stains.
I have to have a few tricks up my sleeve for dealing with these messes and my go-to for a nasty stain is Espro Sports Cleaner. This stuff seriously works on your worst stains (even on the carpet and other fabrics!) and it does all the work so you don’t have to.
The funny thing about this picture of my son, Leo, is that these grass stains on the knees were obtained during my daughter’s soccer game. So she’s out on the field (you’d think she’s the one who’d end up dirty) and he messes up his pants while playing with the other younger soccer siblings. Sounds about right.
These pants were the first job I tackled with Espro Sports Cleaner. It’s really simple to use: just spray it on the stain. For particularly bad stains you can let it soak in for up to 24 hours and might also want to take a brush to the stain too. I didn’t brush it into the pants, but I did let it sit with the Espro on it for a few hours. Before we get to the results, let me tell you what makes Espro a stand out in the stain-fighting department.
Some of things I really like about this brand:
- It’s easy to use. Just spray! And I like that it comes in a travel size and they make wipes, too. Perfect for travel.
- It’s safe. There’s no bleach, it’s environmentally friendly, and safe for use around pets and kids.
- You can use it on all fabrics, including silk!
- Not only does it eliminate stains, it’s tough on odors too. Hello, stinky sports socks.
- It’s perfect for those really hard-to-get-out stains like baby messes, pet messes (it works on carpet too!), grass stains, blood, and more.
Clearly this is a lifesaver for moms. Sometimes I feel a bit like the mom in this video!
It works on so many stains and really, isn’t it nice to not have to worry about how you’re ever going to salvage a sports uniform or some other piece of clothing the kids have worked their special magic on?
Back to Leo’s pants. I sprayed the Espro Sports Cleaner on the knees and let them sit for about 3 hours. Then I threw them in the wash as I normally would as part of a larger load. I didn’t wash them separately. No need to do that since Espro is safe for all clothing.
And there you go, the after picture! The stains came out. The pants look great! They’re not stiff or thin where I used the Espro. You simply can’t tell they were ever stained.
Can I tell you how glad I am to have a plan when my kids come up with some creative way to challenge my laundry skills? This stuff truly works. I would add that it’s a good idea to let it soak a bit on tough stains, and I think it’s smart to treat them as soon as you can. But even if you can’t treat stains immediately, Espro works.
I didn’t take pics of this little test, but somehow I ruined a pair of my daughter’s leggings in the wash recently. They’re pink, and they came out with blue splotches all over them like something bled on them. I tested the Espro on this stain too and amazingly it got most of it out! I did wash it twice but it’s now hardly noticeable. In fact, she wore them to school today. I’d have had to retire those for sure without this product.
If you have kids that get into messes (hello, every mom in the world) Espro Sports Cleaner is a must-have in your laundry room. It’s my new secret weapon for their sports uniforms that always seem to collect grass and food stains, and it works on so much more than that.
