Elf on the Shelf: Where is Tootsie Today? {11/28/12)

Tootsie had quite a surprise for the kids when they woke up this morning!  Little stinker snuck into my purse and grabbed my lipstick to leave them a message on their bathroom mirror.  The hearts and x’s and o’s are a nice touch, aren’t they?  We got quite a kick out of it.  We’ll see what kind of kick I get out of it tomorrow when I have to clean that mirror.

He looks pretty pleased with himself.  You’re lucky you’re so cute, Tootsie.  So Tootsie sat in the bathroom all day long, mostly by his lonesome.  Tonight I go in there to help the kids get ready for bed and I find this on the counter next to the elf:

It appears we’re entering a new phase of life with an elf and the children have forgotten that he’s there to observe their behavior and not bring them presents.  This cute little request for ‘elf donuts’ was to be ignored by me.  I mean, we’re about 4 days into this.  Let’s not start a bad habit here.  Meanwhile, my husband had to run to the grocery store for something and he comes home with, you guessed it, donuts!  I looked at him and said, “You are a SUCKER.”  He laughed.  Nice. Glad to see we’re on the same page.  So now there are donuts in our freezer so that they appear to have come straight from the North Pole in the morning.  I’ll admit, I’m a little concerned about where life with Tootsie is headed.  We’ll see if we can reel him (and my kids, and my husband!) back in tomorrow.

Come see me again tomorrow to find out what Tootsie’s up to!  You can find all my past Elf on the Shelf posts here.  Follow  my Elf on the Shelf board on Pinterest to get even more ideas, and if you don’t have an elf for your family, get one on Amazon.  This is by far them most FUN family Christmas tradition we have!

When our elf leaves notes on mirrors and picture frames I use a dry erase marker 🙂 Wipes off very easily 🙂 But I must say that is super cute with the lipstick and LOVE the note your little one left, hehe.

I think I saw on Pinterest Elf donuts..no lie.  Cheerios  somehow covered in sprinkles and put into a little box.  Should be able to google it and be a little better than the obvious real donuts..or maybe even the pop-tart crisps.  Little square pop-tarts..hey elf donuts can be square right?
