Woohoo for SUMMER! My kids just got done with school this week and we are loving the freedom and fun of this season. It’s wickedly hot, too, and I don’t know if you knew this but summer is the season in which kids are most likely to get dehydrated. Obviously makes total sense since they’re outside running around in the heat more. And yikes, only 15% of kids ages 9-13 are getting enough water.
I do my best to stuff them full of fruit and sneak water in in ways that don’t involve chugging glass after glass of water. Because they are not about to do that.
AquaBall has become a huge help to me in keeping the kids hydrated. They absolutely love it, which is key, because if they don’t they’re not drinking it, right?
What I love about AquaBall as a mom is that it’s not full of junk. I’ll be honest – I don’t even buy juice for my kids. They drink water and sometimes milk, but I make an effort from the beginning to not fill them full of sugary juices. Plain water can get boring. Even I flavor my water so I totally feel their sick-of-plain-water pain.
What makes AquaBall different than other kids’ drinks? This chart was really eye opening to me. Even the drinks that are 100% juice really contain a lot of sugar. In addition to having no sugar, no high fructose corn syrup, and no artificial colors and flavors, AquaBall actually has ADDED some good stuff! Stuff like vitamins and minerals that help kids retain and use energy.
So to get my kids excited about drinking more water (and I do push the regular water all day but we need to change it up once in a while!) I make their drinks fancy and watch them slurp them down. This could not be simpler.
Get a pretty glass, add ice, add the fruit that goes with the flavor of AquaBall you’re serving, pour in the AquaBall, DONE! I added orange slices to the Orange Splash flavor and blueberries to the Berry Frost flavor. Pop in a cute straw and there you have it!
These fancy summer drinks for kids are a huge hit with my gang. They suck them right down then eat the fruit out of the bottom! If you’re working to get your kids to drink more water and keep them hydrated during this time of year when they need it most, look for AquaBall at your local retailer like Target, Wal-mart, Sam’s Club or your grocery store.

I love the idea of adding the fruit to the water, that is a great idea and sounds so cool and refreshing!
