Hi, my name is Lindsay and I have a peanut butter addiction. Actually it’s specifically Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butters that I’m addicted to, both the White Chocolate Wonderful and Dark Chocolate Dreams. It’s sooooo good. So good. And the awesome thing about peanut butter is that it’s so versatile. You can use it in sweet and savory recipes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes, and right off the ole spoon.
What could go better with Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter than candy canes? I’ll admit this might sound like an unlikely combination but believe me, it WORKS.
I made these for my kids after school this week and they drank them down so fast it nearly made my head spin. And I was kind of sad because I can usually count on Leo only half finishing most everything so I get a little taste and he left me not one drop. So I had to make more, naturally. No one complained about that either.
Before you check out my recipe below, here’s a discount for you. Save 25% on your Peanut Butter & Co. purchase with code YUMSQUADLOVE through December 31, 2014. In addition to peanut butters of all sorts, they have nuts and snacks and awesome gift packs. *drool*
This recipe is really easy to make and totally delicious. The chocolate combined with the slight crunch and pepperminty taste of the candy canes is heavenly.
Dark Chocolate Dreams Candy Cane Milkshake Recipe
A delicious and easy chocolate milkshake with candy canes.
Ingredients
- Vanilla ice cream (8 scoops, divided)
- 1 cup of milk
- 3 candy canes
- 1/3 cup Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter (plus a tad more for garnish - optional)
Instructions
Put the 3 candy canes in a plastic baggie and crush them. I hit them a few times with the back of a wooden spoon. You don't need to completely smash them. Leave a few bigger hunks in there. Pull out a few of the larger pieces for garnish. Set candy canes aside while you mix up the milkshake.
Put 6 scoops of ice cream in a deep bowl. Add the milk. With an immersion hand blender, mix it up until the ice cream and milk are combined. If you don't have a hand blender, just use a regular blender. Works the same!
Add the Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter to the milkshake and blend until combined.
Add the crushed candy canes and give it another quick mix to stir them in. You don't need to mix them much, just enough to evenly distribute through the milkshake.
To serve: Pour into 2 glasses. Add another scoop of vanilla ice cream on top to each glass. Garnish with a swirl of Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter (I microwaved a spoonful for about 25 seconds to get it a little thinner so I could spread it around more easily). Top with the reserved larger pieces of candy cane.
Enjoy!
The only bad thing here is that my kids ate these so fast I hardly got a lick. So you might want to double it right off the bat.
