CVS is hosting a costume party this Sunday October 23, 2011 from 9am to 5pm at all locations! Kids who arrive in costume will be given a free gift pack that includes $5 value of candy, toys, trick-or-treat safety items, and $10 in coupons for additional Halloween products. It also includes a free 5×7 photo for a free in-store costume photo shoot. Sounds fun!
Now…I read through a bunch of the comments on this event page on Facebook and there are a couple things that stick out I want to pass on. Several customers asked about an age requirement for children and CVS would not directly answer this question on the page. They directed customers to call 800-SHOP-CVS or speak with their local store manager for clarification. So if you have a very young (I’m thinking baby) or older child that you want to take, I’d check first to see if they’ll get the goodie bag.
Also, there were a number of comments from people saying you had to make a purchase to get the goodie bag. Some people said the goodie bag is free but the 5×7 photo requires a purchase. CVS has clearly advertised this as a free event, but they aren’t responding to these comments and customers who have called the 800 number are posting that a purchase IS required. I would check with your local store manager so you know what to expect. If you do need to purchase something, make it a pack of gum or use a coupon to get something super cheap.
If you get beyond all of that, it sounds like a FUN event for the kids and who wouldn’t like the coupons in the goodie bags?!
