I was provided with a complimentary Chasin’ Cheeky game to facilitate this review. The opinions in this post are 100% mine. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
Here’s a fun game that got my kids hoppin’! Chasin’ Cheeky is a new Hasbro game and my kids, ages 7 and 4, had a great time playing together. I will say the competition got a little heated at times. Ah, sibling love. 😉
Get ready to zoom around the room with the CHASIN’ CHEEKY game! As Chasin’ Cheeky, a silly purple monkey, speeds around the room, Preschoolers will race around and toss their rings onto his tail. Once your Preschooler gets their rings on Chasin’ Cheeky’s tail they grab his banana to win! Then Chasin’ Cheeky does his “cheeky” victory dance. Preschoolers will join in and dance around the room with the CHASIN’ CHEEKY game! (Requires 2 C batteries – not included).
So, my kids are a little on the older side of the recommended ages (3+) for this one but they really did have a good time playing. Chasin’ Cheeky is easy to set up: Just pop in his tail, put the banana in his mouth, insert 2 C batteries and turn him on. I was a little overwhelmed with the toy packaging but unfortunately this is the norm these days. Once I freed Cheeky from the box I had him ready to roll in a few minutes. Make sure you have the batteries on hand. I’d prefer that toys come with batteries so you can use them right out of the box but it does clearly state on the box that the batteries are not included so I was prepared.
I assigned my daughter the green rings and my son the yellow ones and then tossed them around the room. Then I turned Cheeky on and let him run around while the kids scrambled to collect their rings and get them on Cheeky’s wiggly little tail. Whoever got their 3 rings on his tail first grabbed the banana out of his mouth and then joined Cheeky in his tail-shaking victory dance! He’s adorable when he’s dancing like that and the kids got such a kick out of it. And look at those competitive faces!
Chasin’ Cheeky is a lot of fun and really easy to set up and the kids can handle getting him going all by themselves. You need to play on a hard surface. We tried it in the kitchen first but didn’t have enough space. Once Cheeky hits a wall he gets stuck and you have to move him to get him freed. So try to pick a place where there’s more room. We had better luck in the basement.
Chasin’ Cheeky is available on Amazon (retail price $24.99) and would be a really fun gift for preschoolers! Be sure to follow Hasbro Game Night on Facebook and on Twitter to be the first to hear about any new fun games and promotions!
