This is a sponsored post on behalf of Wounded Warrior Project however all opinions in this post are 100% mine. Our family has always supported this cause and I’m so glad to share it with you, too. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
Can you believe it’s nearly November already? This month went fast! Every time I grocery shop I’m noticing all these holiday-themed displays. I can’t wait to start cooking and baking for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
The awesome thing about the additional grocery shopping I do this time of year is that it coincides with the Believe in Heroes® campaign in support of Wounded Warrior Project®.
This is a cause my family has always supported. My Dad and my father-in-law both served our country, and we contribute regularly to veterans’ charities. The thing I love about the Believe In Heroes Campaign is that it’s so EASY to shop to support the brands that support our heroes! And these are brands we use anyway!
These participating 45+ brands have made a fixed donation to WWP through the Believe in Heroes campaign of $1,150,000 for this year and it’s anticipated that with this program that number will exceed $5,000,000 this year. WOW!
I think the stories from those that have been helped by Wounded Warrior Project are so powerful. This is Erik Schei, Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was injured in Iraq and his parents instantly went from mom and dad to caregivers. The great thing about Wounded Warrior Project is that it not only serves our veterans, but supports the families that love them. They’ve helped Eric’s parents connect with other caregivers and give Eric skills he needs to keep moving forward.
Established in 2010, Believe in Heroes has grown substantially over the past six years. Beginning humbly with the support of more than a dozen well-known brands and one regional grocery retailer, the campaign has increased to include more than 45 brands and 170 retailers and has raised over $22 million since 2010. The funds raised have helped enable the expansion of critical Wounded Warrior Project® programs that now directly serve more than 77,000 injured service members and over 13,000 caregivers and families.
This is Mary McGriff, Captain in the U.S. Air Force. Mary was in Iraq during some of the worst battles and came home another battle with PTSD. Wounded Warrior Project has helped Mary with everyday life improvements, like a gym membership, cycling events and meeting peers, and has been instrumental in helping Mary decide to accept a service dog, a poodle named Courage. Love this story!
These are just a couple of the real people Believe In Heroes helps. And what can you do to contribute? Just shop to support the brands that support our veterans!
So many of these brands we use all the time: Starbucks Coffee (hello!), Campbell’s, Purina, Advil, Gillette, Puffs Tissues, Tide, Domino Sugar (Christmas cookie time!!) and many more.
