Did you get a bunch of Christmas cards this year? Taking them down is part of cleaning up my Christmas mess and a couple years ago I found a great way to recycle them for an awesome cause. The St. Jude’s Recycled Card Program allows you to send your cards to be recycled and reused to benefit the kids at St. Jude. Kids at St. Jude take old cards and take off the front and give them a new back. It’s a great way to go green, using recycled cards, and a great way to support a fantastic cause, helping the kids at St. Jude earn a little money!
I send my biggest donation of cards to St. Jude after Christmas, but they take cards for all occasions and have an increased need right now for thank you and birthday cards. I keep a stack of all the cards we receive that meet the contribution guidelines, and when I get a good sized stack, I mail them in. So save your cards all year long and when you have a good stack, send them in! I’ll throw in a bunch of birthday cards and other cards with my Christmas mailing this week.
Here’s some helpful info from the St. Jude website:
- All types of greeting cards, including Christmas are used.
- Only the card front can be used (please check to be sure the back side is clear of any writing, etc.)
- We can not accept Hallmark, Disney or American Greeting cards.
- 5″ x 7″ size or smaller is preferred.
Mail donations to: St. Jude’s Ranch for Children Recycled Card Program, 100 St. Jude’s Street, Boulder City, NV 89005
