We Rescued ASPCA Plush Doggie ‘Pup Slup’ for the Holidays + Giveaway!

This post may contain affiliate links. View my disclosure policy for details.

I was provided with a complimentary ASPCA Rescue Plush to facilitate this review.   The opinions in this post are 100% mine.  You can read my full disclosure policy here.

ASPCA Pet Adoption

You might already know that I’m a huge advocate for pet adoption. I share my local Humane League’s Pet of the Week every week not only to help those animals find a home but also to push the message of pet adoption. There are so many sweet, loving pets looking for their forever families in shelters right now. And I know a lot of people consider bringing them home for the holidays which is so awesome.  If you’re not quite ready to  make that commitment, and it is a lifelong commitment – pets aren’t disposable – maybe a stand-in rescue pet would do the trick this year!  The ASPCA has these adorable rescue plush pets available at Kmart stores nationwide and online at Kmart and from QVC.

ASPCA Plush ASST 6-2-14 (2)

Adorable right? They even come with adoption papers.  We got the German Shepard in the middle and my son loves him.  When you push on their heads they bark. And it’s a cute bark, too!

Some of these ASPCA Plush Pets are Vet Pets and come with a whole vet kit for your child to play with. The extra pieces make this plush more interactive for kids. I always wanted to be a vet when I was a kid (turns out biology isn’t my thing) and would have adored this toy.  You can find the “vet pet” packages, including this one for an adorable Siamese cat needing your loving care, in KMART stores nationwide and at kmart.com. These include a stethoscope, neck cone, syringe and bandage to help nurse your cat back to health. The cat retails for $21.99.

BEST PART: The KMART cat is raising funds to protect animals from harm, and 3-5% of the purchase price of each product goes toward the great work that the ASPCA does!

ASPCA Rescue Plush

My son promptly named his new German Shepard Pup Slup. I have no clue, guys. I think this stuff just comes out of his mouth and we go with it, but it’s sticking. Pup Slup is already very well loved and now has a happy home to spend the rest of his days.

Sam and Pup Slup

My other ‘son’ Sam, who is a real life rescue dog, is not so sure. “Is this dog here to take my place, Mommy?” (Don’t act like your dogs don’t talk!)  No Sam, we’ve got enough love to go around!

I love this idea for a holiday gift for the kids. Kids love cute and cuddly stuffed animals but this one is really special because the purchase itself donates to the ASPCA, but also because it’s a great opportunity to teach your kids about homeless pets, responsible ownership, and just doing good in the world. What’s not to love? Shop for your own ASPCA Rescue Pet at your local Kmart or Kmart online. These sweet pets are also available at QVC online!

I have an ASPCA Plush Pet to give away to one lucky reader! This giveaway ends at 11:59pm ET on December 12 2014 and is open to US residents ages 18+ only.

Good luck!

I have many furbabies. I have 4, yes 4! in the house. They are truly my babies. My oldest is 10. Their names are Trixie, Chigger, cricket and Lola. Several years after being married my husband found out that a child of our own was most probably not going to happen. Now I understand why. I feel like that I was supposed to care for these precious 4 babies of mine and I am fine with that. Everything us for a reason.

Aw, I love your story Krystal! We have 2 pets, used to be 3 but we lost our cat Lady to cancer a couple of months ago. Now we’re thinking of adopting again. The more of these homeless pets I see the more I want to rescue. I need to live on a farm where we can have them all!

At the moment we don’t have pets. Allergy issues. However, growing up I had Brittany Spaniels. Duchess was the one I got when I was 3. She was my baby. Such a sweet dog.

We have 3 animals in our house. We have a Betta fish named Dory. A 17 year old cat, named Marley, that came from the pound many many years ago. And we have a dog named Shadow, who my niece found tied with yarn around a light pole by the local Dunkin Donuts. They’re all great animals and great additions to our family.

We just adopted our first pet last month. He was severely abused and is starting to warm up to us. How anyone could have hurt him I dont know. He is the sweetest little thing. My daughter is in college to become a Vet Tech and loves what the ASPCA does.

We have 7 dogs, 4 of which are rescue dogs. Mine is a 13 y/o min pin who is getting more dependent on me by the day. The rest belong to my son and his wife. But, I get to care for them.

We have five cats! We have an older cat, Gordon. Last year a male stray showed up and now we consider him ours. A few months ago three more kittens showed up and we’ve adopted them, Cinnamon, Oreo, and Fluffy. 🙂

We do not currently have any pets, but do enjoy visiting family and friends with pets. Zoo visits are also always a fun time. The kids enjoy animals.
