Hershey, PA is our favorite year-round destination for family fun, and when we go, we love to stay overnight in one of The Official Resorts of Hersheypark. There are so many awesome perks included. We’ve stayed at all three, so I’ve got the scoop for you below.
The Official Resorts of Hersheypark
There are three Hersheypark resorts: The Hotel Hershey, The Hershey Lodge, and Hersheypark Camping Resort. Each is unique and provides a wonderful family experience.
The Hotel Hershey is my family’s favorite. I just love this resort. It’s so fancy and just feels really special. We like to stay here over the holidays for a treat and an escape from the hustle of the season. There are lots of restaurants on site, too.
Hershey Lodge is another beautiful property, and one of the best features of this resort is Hershey’s Waterworks at Hershey Lodge. This is an indoor, year-round waterpark that’s perfect for families with young children. My kids LOVE it!
Finally, Hersheypark Camping Resort is where you want to be if you’re a little more outdoorsy. Or even if you’re more into glamping than camping (like me!). They have a variety of campsites including some really beautiful cabins that give you just enough of a ‘roughing it’ experience without actually roughing it at all.
Besides the perks I’ll share below, this is what I love about staying at the Official Resorts of Hersheypark: There is so much to do at each one, you can have a vacation right at the resort! Of course we love to visit Hersheypark, Chocolate World, all that good stuff, but when you’re traveling with kids and need a place to retreat to, you can totally do that at all three of these resorts and still have plenty to do to be entertained in a more relaxing environment.
On our last trip, we stayed at the Hershey Lodge and after a long day at Hersheypark, we enjoyed a game of mini golf and a round of basketball right on the resort property. So much fun!
Perks of Staying at an Official Hersheypark Resort
In addition to fantastic accommodations and access to lots of amazing restaurants, there are some great perks that come along with a stay at one of The Official Resorts of Hersheypark.
When you check in, you’ll get a Hershey bar. A little perk talk about starting your visit off on the right foot! You’ll also get complimentary passes to The Hershey Gardens and The Hershey Story Museum. We’ve been to both of these places and they are definitely worth checking out. The Butterfly Atrium at The Hershey Gardens is open year-round and it’s stunning!
During the Summer season, resort guests can access Hersheypark one hour earlier than the public. I love this option to get an early start, beat the crowds, and get a few rides in before the gates open.
And speaking of beating crowds, you don’t have to worry about finding parking when you’re a resort guest. They run free shuttles to and from Hersheypark throughout the day and night, so you can hop on and leave your car at the resort. This makes it so easy to get right to the good stuff – the rides!
