20 Mule Team Borax: Boost Your Detergent for Fresher Laundry!

I feel like I’m pretty much tied to my laundry room most days. I bet many of you can relate.  Seriously, there are only 4 of us living in this house. How do we create this much laundry?!  I think it’s because a lot of the things my family likes to do get them get pretty dirty and gross so we’re changing our clothes more often than I’d personally like. But, better that than a smelly kid or husband on the couch, right?  Right.  For my loads of wash that are particularly dirty (think husband out mowing the lawn and doing yard work in the 90 degree sun, or child digging a hole in the garden) I’ve started using 20 Mule Team Borax as a laundry booster and my wash is coming out cleaner and fresher!

20 Mule Team Borax

You use the 20 Mule Team Borax in addition to your regular laundry detergent. Just pour a half cup into the washing machine while it’s filling up.  I measured out a half cup and then poured it into the lid of my detergent bottle to get a feel for how much I need so I don’t need to keep a separate measuring cup in the laundry room.  It’s just shy of being full for my lid. So if you’re eyeballing keep that in mind.  And that’s it!  The 20 Mule Team Borax works great to really clean deep and freshen your laundry.

So what is this stuff?  20 Mule Team Borax is a 100% natural mineral that comes from the Earth. They wash it, dry it,and box it up with nothing at all added. There are no chemicals or chlorine – nothing.  The way this product works is that it naturally softens hard water which allows your detergent to do a better job.  Hard water can grab onto your detergent and sink it to the bottom of your washing machine.  With the addition of the 20 Mule Team Borax, the water becomes softer and the detergent can do it’s job.  Makes sense, right?

As you might guess 20 Mule Team Borax is also great for a bunch of household cleaning jobs.  Not my favorite thing by a long shot so anything that makes those nasty jobs easier is a winner in my book.  And really what makes this product so fantastic is that it has so many uses.  You can clean your sinks, toilets, bathroom counters, showers, tile and grout and tons of other things.  That’s definitely a money-saver when you don’t need to buy multiple cleaning products for every different household job.  Just find it in your local store to give it a try! I am really loving being able to use one product for my laundry and cleaning needs, especially one that’s all natural.

You can learn more about 20 Mule Team Borax on their website and by following on Facebook.
