Wegmans Lancaster Grand Opening
I have been waiting for this moment for years! Welcome to the neighborhood, Wegmans Lancaster! The grand opening is Sunday September 23 at 7am and I. AM. READY. Check out the quick video tour below and read on for tons of pics!
The new store is located at 2000 Crossings Blvd., Lancaster PA 17601, so that’s the address to put into your GPS if you need directions. Locals, Wegmans Lancaster is right across Harrisburg Pike from Long’s Park, not far from Park City Mall. It’s really easy to find and Store Manager Jimmy Bellis and his team of 475 employees have poured their hearts into making this a special place for our Lancaster community.

The store is GORGEOUS and so spacious. I absolutely love the layout. Wegmans Lancaster employees have been working hard to train for their new roles, and create an amazing shopping experience for all of us. We love to shop here, but we also love to eat here. TIP: Eat before you shop or you might buy one of everything – it all looks even more amazing when you’re hungry!
Wegmans Lancaster will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to accommodate shoppers with a variety of schedules and shopping needs. Late night Wegmans run, anyone? You will find me there. Count on it!
Wegmans Lancaster Highlights
This brand new store is going to have some really awesome features, some of which are among the first to be found in Wegmans stores in Pennsylvania. So exciting! I was able to attend a media tour before the opening and grabbed a ton of pics to give you a sneak peek!
Dine In at Wegmans

There are so many dine in options (and of course you can take out too!) The Burger Bar is Wegmans’ family-friendly, casual restaurant that serves delicious burgers and sandwiches, fresh salads, soup, sides, kids’ meals, and beer and wine by the glass. You can either dine in in the seating area, or grab your burgers to go.

See the local brews on tap? I love that!

Get ready for authentic Italian pizza, made to order from a custom rotating brick-hearth oven, and quickfired at 800 degrees on volcanic stone from Mt. Vesuvius in Italy. Say what?! Yes! There’s a self-serve chicken wing bar, too, so game day food is covered.

Wegmans is my favorite place for fresh produce, so I’m excited about this made-to-order salad station with the freshest ingredients from the market: crisp greens, grains, toppings, and outstanding dressings.

The Market Cafe is packed with so many more delicious food options: fresh sushi, hot food bars include an amazing Asian selection (this is my favorite – try the dumplings!), a cold food bar including a vegetarian bar, and more.
There is indoor and outdoor seating available, including a great kids’ seating area so this is a perfect dining option for families.

And speaking of kids, mine are pretty excited about this mochi bar. If you haven’t tried these, grab a few for dessert while you dine in. So good!
The Buzz Coffee Shop

The Buzz coffee shop offers a variety of coffee drinks and tasty breakfast treats. All of the coffee is organic and the flavored syrups are Wegmans Food You Feel Good About, so this is a clean-label coffee bar.
Special note: The Buzz is located right inside the entrance, and above it is a replica of Wegmans’ organic farm. Every hour the sun lights up and a rooster pops out to crow. Have the kids look for it!

I sampled a bunch of drinks today (you need to try the Nitro Brew!) and I will be stopping here on the regular. If it’s wrong to want to eat at Wegmans three meals a day, I don’t want to be right.

Be sure to grab a reusable cup. You’ll get your first cup of coffee free, plus $.50 off every time you get a refill!
Wegmans Lancaster Grand Opening

Each department in Wegmans is packed full of beautiful, unique meal ideas and great deals. The seafood section is one of my favorites, and when the store is open this area will be stocked with fresh seafood on ice.

Need shellfish steamed? They’ll do it for you, free of charge.

Wegmans Lancaster stocks over 4000 organic products, including a dedicated section for organic meats.

Wegmans Lancaster also features a pharmacy, catering services for your special events, a beautiful floral shop, and bulk foods including a trail mix bar.

The Wegmans bakery cannot be beat, and this whole section is going to be filled with cookies, all clearly labeled with their variety and calorie count. The frosted cookies are our favorite!

The produce department includes a huge variety of organic options, and because Wegmans began as a fruit cart, the produce section will always be the first to greet you when you enter a store. They are still stocking this section so it’s perfectly fresh on opening day!

Be sure to look for Wegmans brand products for big savings (especially on the Family Pack sizes!) and clearly labeled nutritional information.
Health and Wellness

These tables in the health and wellness section are teaching tables, and on the weekends staff will be available to educate customers on a variety of new products.

Keep an eye out for the train! The train cars are made to mimic Wegmans’ tractor trailers. Pretty cool, and another fun thing for the kids!

The home and entertainment section is perfect for grabbing something unique for your entertaining or a gift for a friend. Isn’t this stuff beautiful? I love that sunflower serving tray.
Wine and Beer

Wegmans Lancaster has an impressive beer and wine section. There are whole rows dedicated to local Pennsylvania varieties.

The Craft Your Own 6-pack is smart when you want to try something new, and I personally love it as a host or hostess gift.

Love wine? Yes, me too! Wegmans Lancaster has us covered with a huge selection. Again, you will find a bunch of Pennsylvania local wines here, and not only is there something for every taste, but there’s something for every budget. Need a $6 bottle? It’s here!

If you’re looking for something for a special occasion, the Fine Wines area is kept at the perfect temperature and in the perfect light to keep these higher-end wines in tip top condition. A staff person is available to assist you, and wines range from about $40-$230 per bottle.
Meet Store Manager Jimmy Bellis

I had the chance to meet the new store manager and he’s a great guy, very excited to be part of our Lancaster community. Jimmy Bellis has been part of the Wegmans family since he graduated college in 2006. After working through a variety of department management positions, he was named Store Manager of the State College, PA Wegmans in 2015, and in 2017 he accepted the role of Store Manager to lead the opening here in Lancaster.
Jimmy can’t wait to welcome all of us to our new Wegmans store. The Wegmans mission statement is ‘helping families live better, healthier lives through food’ and Jimmy and his team in Lancaster are really looking forward to bringing this sentiment to life. Providing an enjoyable shopping experience is top priority.
Meet Executive Chef Keith Briggs
Executive Chef Keith Briggs will oversee 100 culinary employees at Wegmans Lancaster. He says one of his greatest achievements was mastering the art of rolling gnocchi off a fork just like his Italian grandmother, so this is a guy you want in charge of the food.
A graduate of Johnson & Wales culinary school, Keith is just as passionate about food as he is about developing that passion in his employees. It’s people like him that are the reason Wegmans is consistently named one of the ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ by FORTUNE magazine. I cannot wait to sample basically ALL the food made in this store!
To-Do List for Wegmans Lancaster Shoppers

If you have not already, sign up for your Wegmans Shoppers Club Card. You can do this in the store, too. Don’t miss out on special offers and instant savings.
You’re going to also want to download the free Wegmans app on your phone. Use it to scan your Shoppers Club Card right from the app, clip digital coupons, make lists, and more. So convenient!
