Enjoy gorgeous views of the water while dining on amazing food at Waterfront Social in Crystal River, Florida

Waterfront Social in Crystal River, Florida
I’ve come to really love restaurants in Florida. You can go to a place where the menu is pretty upscale, but feel free to wear your jean shorts. And that’s the vibe at Waterfront Social.
It’s a relaxed atmosphere, not at all stuffy fine dining, and yet the menu offers a great selection of high-quality dishes. It’s perfect for vacation when you want to enjoy a great meal without the fuss.
Waterfront Social offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the night we were there we sat outside and enjoyed live music.
The restaurant is located along Kings Bay and offers absolutely gorgeous views of the water. At the end of the post you’ll see a couple of sunset pictures.
Tip: Plan your visit around when the sun sets because the view is just stunning.
Where to Eat Crystal River Florida
I enjoyed a delicious cocktail, and my husband got one of the local beers off the menu. This hit the spot on a hot day.

The family shared an appetizer of Calamari, and it was so good. The buttermilk breading was flavorful and crisp.
Other unique appetizers on the menu include Coconut Shrimp, Gator Bites, and Fried Cheese Curds.
Crystal River Restaurants Seafood
For the main event, the kids both ordered Blackened Mahi Tacos. I’m pretty sure they lived on these while we were in Florida, and the fish tacos at Waterfront Social were a favorite.
The citrus slaw and lime paired with fresh mahi is…chef’s kiss.
My husband ordered the Blackened Grouper, served with jasmine rice and vegetables. He let me have a bite and this was so good!
Waterfront Social sources their fish from local suppliers and it’s super fresh and their dishes are all made from scratch.
I ordered the Shrimp Pasta and it was fantastic. The menu doesn’t indicate whether the pasta is freshly made or not, but it tasted that way to me. Definitely didn’t taste like the pasta out of a box that I eat at home!
The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked. This was SO. GOOD.
If you’re dining with kids that might not be adventurous eaters or love seafood, Waterfront Social has items on the menu that please this crowd, too: burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, and more.
We really love the fresh seafood (it’s not like this back home in PA!) but it’s good to know that there are menu items for a variety of tastes here.
Every one of us ate every bite of our meals, so we were pretty satisfied, but who can resist dessert? We decided to order a couple of items and share them.
You pretty much have to get Key Lime Pie in Florida, and we added Mike’s Chocolate Cake to the order. They were both amazing and beautifully plated.
The service was fantastic, too. We had the sweetest server, and the manager stopped by our table to tell us the best spot to take in the sunset.
Crystal River Restaurants on the Water
You can sit right at your outdoor table and enjoy the view of the sunset if you’d like. But the manager told us that if you face the water and head to the right a bit, you get a better view. And he was right.
It was absolutely stunning and the perfect way to end this delicious dinner out with the family.
Waterfront Social is SO good, and I highly recommend it not only for the delicious menu and cocktails, but also for the atmosphere. They are open for lunch and dinner every day, and if you have to pick one, I’d go for a late dinner and catch that sunset.
