I’m carrying on with my #26acts of kindness to honor the memory of those who died in Newtown. Yesterday I made these little bouquets of fresh rosemary from my garden (yes it’s still growing and still green!) for my neighbors and handed them out at the bus stop. I also gave a couple to the receptionist and director at my son’s preschool. This act of kindness didn’t cost me a dime and everyone was thrilled to get it. Made my day to be able to share and bring so many smiles.
This was Act 2 for me. Lots more to go! When I asked if you were participating I got a couple of great responses:
I am trying to do a random act each day. On Monday I sent some money through paypal to a woman who was struggling with buying her autistic daughter Christmas presents. On Tuesday I donated money to a company making capes for all the children that attended the school where the shootings took place. Today I took my son’s teach a Willow Tree Angel to thank her for her dedication to education.. Alicia
My wife and I decided to donate some toys to the library for the Christmas toy drive. Then, my little girl and I took them to the lady at the front desk and dropped them off. The librarian was very cheerful and she wished us a Merry Christmas. I am glad that people are willing to take time to help the children who are less fortunate. I am sure that the victims families would be comforted to know that their loved ones are still inspiring people to pull together and help others. Arthur
If you’re on Twitter or Instagram you should take some time to look through the #26acts hashtags. The kindness people are showing random strangers will bring tears to your eyes. It’s incredible. Read more about where this idea came from in my first #26acts post, and find all of my #26acts posts here to give you some ideas on how you can join in and pay it forward! And please comment and tell me about your #26acts! I’d love to share them with my readers!
