In reply to <a href="https://seemomclick.com/toyota-highlander-in-the-snow/#comment-60354">Kyle</a>.

Hi Kyle. I wasn't paid for the review, but was provided a loaner car for a week. This was a 2017 model, and it was brand new. Did you purchase yours used? Maybe the prior use has affected the performance? It's still late model so I wouldn't think so, but it could be a factor. I'm really sorry you aren't happy with your car. They are big purchases, so you want to be satisfied. I only wrote about my experience here, and we were very impressed with the way the Highlander handled in these conditions. I drive a Subaru Forester now, but my car before that was a 2004 Santa Fe which I drove until I absolutely had to replace it, and I loved that car, too. Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope this input helps other readers with their car buying decision. Wishing you better luck with your vehicle this winter!

Dunno if you're paid for this but we purchased a 2018 highlander top model this year. today is the first time driving it in any real kind of winter conditions but it slips on a small amount of snow even with the snow mode activated (does it even do anything?) all over the place on ice the rear end even slips out.. how does it even do that in an all wheel drive?! We just "upgraded" from a 2010 wanted fe and for winter which over the years we had it it was like driving in summer the whole time it even auto corrects any kind of slipping you get and for the $40k less that it costed I'd honestly go back. Like a couple of kids we were attracted to the bells and whistles and were later dissapointed. Granted it's a Toyota and odds are it'll last forever but it's sad the tech (that counts) between a 2010 sante Fe and a 2018 top end highlander is far apart I strongly urge anyone in here that needs to deal with a real winter to reconsider other options. For reference we live in Manitoba canada

I'm sorry, I don't know. We had this car for a loan several years ago and I just don't remember, but it would have been whatever comes standard on the vehicle. Maybe check your local dealership?
