I love a good summer drink! While I’m far from opposed to mixing in a bottle of wine, my kids love tasty and pretty drinks too so I’m trying to cook up some fun ideas for us this summer. Spring flew in with a bang this week (YAY! long overdue!) and I got the bug to make something bright and summery to sip on. This recipe for Strawberry, Lime & Basil Summer Punch is a breeze to throw together and is perfect for summer when produce is cheap and you have basil growing in your garden.
Enjoy!
Strawberry, Lime, and Basil Summer Punch Put the frozen limeade in a large pitcher. Add the strawberry gelatin and the lemon lime soda. Stir to combine and melt the limeade. This will probably foam a bit but that dies down after a minute or so. Keep stirring and add the soda a little at a time if you have major fizz. Add the strawberries and lime slices. Roughly chop about half of the basil leaves and add them to the drink mix. Scrunch up the rest of the basil leaves in your hand to help release the flavor and then add them to the drink also. Chill for at least 3 hours to let the flavors mix before drinking...if you can wait that long.Strawberry, Lime, and Basil Summer Punch
